While it is debatable whether nor not increased digital interconnectivity between geographical locales and cultures from internets contributes in creating a drab monoculture, I tend to agree with the Autechre guys: I couldn't find the link, but I remember reading an interview where one of them was talking about social media and the importance of social connection at live shows, and he said that people feel like they expressing their individuality on social media, but in reality the firm is 'homogenizing the user base.' In the city where I reside, there is a beat collective called Raund Haus (https://raundhaus.bandcamp.com/) I've listened to all of it, and some is meh, but there is some quality music on there. The J0eru album Spellbound is a really cohesive and sonically-nice concept album, albeit with a bit too much side-chain compression for my taste. My favorite of theirs, though, is a playful Hip Hop instrumental album called Kitty Litter, by Dogzamm. The track 'Shoot em Up' is awesome, lot of other excellent tracks on there as well. I was kind of curious if anyone else had something similar, some local music to share that we all would not otherwise be privy to?
