  1. So by now some of you guys may know about my obsession with the David Fincher film "The Game" which I went as far as to create multiple tribute albums/alternative soundtracks to (as well as a comprehensive online and IRL scavenger hunt based on the film). Anyway, I thought instead of creating a thread on the film- which I may do as well- that I'd draw focus to the screenwriters John Brancato and Michael Ferris--which not much is known or published about them outside of just their list of credits, at least that I could find. This screenwriting duo who penned the film's story, have a vast re

  5. Can anyone recommend me movies in the vein of Drive (2011), Maniac (2012), that sort of stuff? I love this kind of dark, rainy, inner city setting. I even started playing Max Payne 2 again because of this. If I'm not mistaken, a lot of this stuff stems from the 50s, but I'm not sure if I'll enjoy, so I'm guessing 70s and up would be best. Thanks a lot! PS. You can recommend games too if you like, Gemini Rue is a great noir adventure / puzzle game
  6. Read this 2012 article in The New Yorker the other day. This actually seems like one of those long-form avant-garde films that would be really interesting to watch. Has anyone been fortunate enough to see it? Does anyone know of any other interesting long-form films that don't seem like they'd be absolute toss?
  7. Trailer for David Michod's The Rover is finally out. Animal Kingdom got a lot of love on WATMM so thought it deserved its own thread. No youtube link yet but the trailer can be viewed on their official facebook page. They used the intro from Haxan Cloak's last album https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=783656884978045
  8. Nobody can accuse Shia LaBeouf, erstwhile star of the Transformer movies and burgeoning arthouse adventurer, of not being keen. After revealing that he took acid to prepare for a tripped-out scene in new film The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman and drank moonshine while filming John Hillcoat's upcoming prohibition tale Lawless, the 26-year-old actor has now claimed he secured a part in Lars von Trier's controversial new film Nymphomaniac by posting sex tapes to the Danish arch-provocateur. The tapes reportedly featured LaBeouf and his girlfriend Karolyn Pho, whose reaction to such salac

"From his formative years sculpting alien heads to his recent "jaqapparatus 1" robotic performance-art installation, seminal music video director-turned-artist Chris Cunningham retraces his varied and critically acclaimed career in this personal, self-directed short. One of an elite group of directors alongside Spike Jonze, Michel Gondry and Jonathan Glazer who redefined MTV in the 1990s, Cunningham elevated the pop promo to a burgeoning art form with daring and disturbing music videos for the likes of Aphex Twin, Björk and Madonna. While his peers graduated to the big screen, Cunningham went

  19. there r obviously films that require us to turn them off or walk out or which we regret the time we spent to watch them. we might scorn the individual(s) who recommended such a warm, stinking mass to us, with little room for forgiveness. maybe it caused an uncomfortable evening with a loved one or romantic interest. whatever the case may be, this usually is a sign of a films poor quality, but could also be caused by the viewers poor tastes. so plees, when u find the time, here or there; if u would be so kind as to post the names of films you've watched that you would just as well save others t
