    Drukqs Gear and Samples

What drum samples or drum machines were used? How much of it was ITB? What software was used?
  2. Gotta play some gigs in 77.3% relative humidity later this year, want to take a laptop and probably a couple of Elektron box, maybe some other bits. Anyone had experience in this sorta hot wetness? Is it sheer madness? Should I leave everything at home and perform my music via body percussion and vocalisation? Do I need a magic bag to put everything in? Yours lovingly, Brian
  3. Inspired by my completely unjustifiable desire for this: (I actually already have the QY-10 snagged for nex to nothing at some going out of business sale or other a few years ago, but I can think of too many better things - like utility bills - to spend $50 on to ever actually buy one of those Novations).
  4. Do you have any instruments you'd like to own but you also know it wouldn't fit in your music style? Like, if you make IDM but have a soft spot for let's say, accordions! How do you deal with it, do you buy it anyway and have fun just for the sake of playing it by itself? I would love to have one in particular. It's the Manikin's Memotron. It looks beautiful and sounds amazing, really organic and authentic timbres (the company owner guy recorded tons of original and extremely rare tapes through real Mellotrons and vintage cabinets, a really huge work worth the value, IMO). I am really into those tape saturated sounds and I also love the readiness: just play a string chord with this and it sounds like a 50s movie soundtrack. Let me know your instrument, if you have one!
  5. Most know by now that there's official album art featuring a list of the gear purportedly used in the making of Syro: And a spreadsheet version that shows what goes on which track: https://docs.google....6S9GnEU/pubhtml But what exactly is all that gear? Here is a youtube playlist featuring demonstrations of almost all the equipment listed. The only ones omitted were rare modules, microphones, pre-amps and EQ's that weren't available on youtube, but they are all legitimate devices, searchable through google. Something to look through for your christmas shopping, a help to guess what might have gone where on the album, or just an opportunity to gawk at the best synthesizer and audio hardware on the planet. Thanks to Hexahedral for transcribing the list into plain text and adding the spreadsheet version. I might also warn you that reviewing this unreal list, device by device, might lead to a severe case of gear lust; side-effects include envy, depression, madness. Talk it out here.
  6. Hello WATMM! I've wanted to pick up a sampler for live performance and jamming for a while now. There's a ton of cheap midi pads on the market, but just about every single one that I can find requires ableton and a laptop. I don't have a laptop right now, and I'm not interested in being shackled to one every time I make music- so what's an affordable sampler, sans software?
  7. Hi All! Has anyone got any photos or looked at the gear Autechre are using on the 2014 tour? Thanks in advance! 8. I'm trying to find this interview and it's driving me nuts. I think it was just Sean or Rob but not both of them. Anyway he mentioned the gear used on Amber, it was just a couple synths, a sequencer, a sampler, and some effects I think. I want to say it was in 2009 or maybe late 2008, maybe even 2006 or 2007 but I think it was post-Quaristice. A while since they'd released an album. I think the interviewer was from some kind of general art magazine, not specifically a music magazine. I might have this saved on a computer somewhere but I'm not sure. I'm coming up short on Google. I saw the kultureflash interview and I thought that was the right one from the domain name, but that was from 2010, so no dice. Any ideas?
  9. Just put half down on this baby down at Switched On.
