Limited Edition CD (60 hand-numbered copies) GALATIMOSCONI is a collaboration between Roberto Galati and Federico Mosconi.Their first record, 'Penombra', was recorded trying to maintain a live approach, genuine and spontaneous. With 'Dissolve' they decided to exchange ideas and sounds from their own studios, focusing on the richness of their different musical languages and the consequent possibility of making converge their diverse paths in a shared direction.Tracks slowly have evolved, sounds have been added and subtracted, mixing each of both artist's individual styles. They combined guitar parts processed with Ableton’s Max for Live and Max/MSP, field recordings, synthesisers and a hint of violin, in order to create huge and immersive sounds, dense and layered motifs, that then dissolve, and slowly turn off.'Dissolve' reflects two sonic viewpoints as a whole.

From Scott Morgan: “This album gets its name from an odd little ocean side park that borders industry and the Vancouver port authority and lays claim to being the birthplace of the city. “In a way, Sketches from New Brighton it is a continuation of a dialogue with my environment that started with First Narrows (kranky 2004) and continued with the Strathcona Variations EP (Ghostly International 2009). It is not a rigorous "study" per se, but more a series of sketches, loose interpretations of the spaces I inhabit as well as an acknowledgement of their influence on my practice. These are my impressions, a kind of sketch of New Brighton and the surrounding area in an abstract form.” "This sixth full length album from kranky mainstay Scott Morgan sees his pulsing compositions gently unfolding in the understated fashion that has become his trademark. He designs a sonic architecture, slowly constructing, making subtle additions and subtractions, until an almost tactile virtual space is formed. Inside these spaces an aural feng shui is achieved, where less is more, where every element is in its place, and where maximum harmony is attained through the masterly placement of sound." 1. Hey everybody, I directed a documentary/music video series about 7 artists collaborating for the first time on a road trip around Iceland. Soundtrack scored and curated by Deru, who came along and took field recordings there. We'll stream the soundtrack at the end of the week, pretty sweet contributions from Son Lux, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Eskmo, Heathered Pearls, Shigeto, Take, Loscil, Asura, and others. Here's the full soundtrack lineup: http://www.outliersi....com/soundtrack We debut it next Tuesday in Chicago. I created a calendar event, check out the details here: http://forum.watmm.c...n-klank-loscil/

Music that sounds or reminds of small sea towns or harbours
Guest posted a topic in Music Discussion
So, i was listening to Drukqs and then this got on: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G0M0pwbSjXU And here's a few other songs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ModAcgdH1E http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdAgPn-HYao http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I6N8K9t2o74 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0lWW7XSEd-8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-eo20jpSKs I know BoC has a lot of those melodies, but most of them doesn't quite fit in with what i'm looking for, And i was thinking, songs that reminds me of small harbors are very harmonic, it's often the melancholic melody that takes me to those places. One excellent view is the movie "The City of Lost Children" and that has all those small places near the water, it's so surreal and melancholic! I Love it! I also have been listening to Loscil a lot lately and he has excellent tracks that reminds me of the same thing. so post your songs that you thing remind you of the same thing and let's see if we can get a post with those dark harmonic songs. If you can find anything that sounds what i mean that is.
