    Drukqs Gear and Samples

What drum samples or drum machines were used? How much of it was ITB? What software was used?
  2. Hey last week i destroyed my old living room furniture using brute force with punches and kicks, to create a healthier more minimalistic environment for myself. I made a sample pack out of it. Have fun with it. -> click&crack
  3. I started working on some new Lemon Melon tracks after taking a 15 year break, I used to release music on MP3.com back when I was between 11-15 years old, and I've painstakingly uploaded all 200-odd tracks I made 1999-2002 onto bandcamp, and these are the "comeback" track of sorts: [] [/][] [/][] [/][] [/][] [/][] [/] If you like some of u-ziq or Wagon Christ's samplier moments, are old enough to remember Freddy Fresh, Fatboy Slim, Bentley Rhythm Ace or Lemon Jelly, you'll remember Big-Beat music. It had a few forms, Prodigy and Chem Bros probably did the harder, darker side of bigbeat, but others like The Wiseguys and Loop Da Loop just wanted to have fun. I'm coining the term "dotBizbeat" to refer to the slightly dodgier style that evolved post-"For Your Ears Only" when people started using low-quality DAWs on family computers (whilst at the same time registering cheap .biz domains for themselves) to make crap Big-Beat by taking cover disc samples and fucking with them. I'll be having fun with trying some of those for an accompanying EP, but Lemon Law is aiming to hopefully be closer to the second-wave of post-"You've Come A Long Way, Baby"-mania that took the late-90s radio for hostage. For everything I did back in 1999-2002, check http://LemonMelon.bandcamp.com
  4. This is my newest bandcamp release. It is about an imaginary theme park with a pseudo-demonic spokesman named Jerry Siggins. Please Enjoy. 5. http://plugexpert.bandcamp.com/album/vlugtig-ep ^I've put up a 3 part, 39 minute audio marathon on my bandcamp page today featuring sounds created in 2004 using a bunch of different tools. The individual sounds are also included as bonus material/flacs, for those wanting to process further, potentially use in your own work . Creative commons, non-commercial, attribute + share-a-like license applies.
  6. Hi guys, What recommendations do yous have for sites/services that I can upload my own sound designs/samples to, so that I can freely share them with people? I've already uploaded some to freesound.org, but it seems each upload has to go through a vetting process, and once they're up there the management interface isn't all that great. Ideally it would be some service where I can just upload the entire directories as they are on my hard drive (since they're already sorted into categories), and people can preview them in browser without having to explicitly download the file. Bonus points if whole folders/packs can be downloaded by users as opposed to having to downloading files individually. Google search has brought up looperman.com and sampleswap.org so I'll give those a go now and see if they fit the bill. And in case anyone's interested in the few I've put up so far here's the link to my freesound profile. Those are all of a similar theme (noisy, metallic, formanted scatters of transients), but I've a whole slew of more interesting stuff I need to stick somewhere. Cheers Edit 9-Sept-17: Did some comparison testing on various sites, here are my notes in case they're useful for anyone else: I've gone with Google Drive for uploading my one-shots and ambiences to as it seems to have the most granular control in terms of sharing permissions and file management. As standard it's limited to 15GB total storage but I'll be surprised if I ever fill that up with my own material. Sticking to looperman for uploading musical loops to as they would fill up my Google Drive quota faster, and they are much more geared to the audience of looperman anyway.
  7. i picked up a yamaha DX11 yesterday :D the lately bass preset is one of the most famous and immediately recognisable synth sounds ever, a staple of 90s dance pop, it's a super juicy and plummy sound. i comprehensively sampled it chromatically with 3 layers of velocity in 96khz. all wave files have pitch information embedded in them so that your sampler can figure out the root pitch automatically. download from my drive here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B-Ityvj5cx5deGY2Yy1pZDg5RFk ableton users can use this preset for sampler (just point ableton to the folder of wave files when you load it, then re-save) https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B-Ityvj5cx5dYWtSNGhRZ2tDSTA enjoy!
  8. http://awolfe.home.xs4all.nl/ Saw this up on Fact this morning. I just loaded it up into Ableton. Sounds fucking unreal, includes a full Effect Chain and what not. All the sample songs he uploaded to demo it are pretty cool too.
  9. I created a pack of samples from nanoloop 2.7.2 running on a red game boy micro, mostly for my own use in my machinedrum, but I figured I could chuck them online for anyone who wants to give them a shot. Nothing too weird here (might do a second pack for that; nanoloop is no stranger to weird sounds), but there are some nice basses, chords, percussion etc.. everything tuned to C where appropriate, and in stereo for those nice wide chord/bass sounds. Not much in the way of chiptune stuff here either. These are mostly from my nanodisco and STTC tracks which were trying to make non-chippy sounds. download here If you like these sounds, consider supporting oliver by purchasing nanoloop in some form.. it's a lot of fun :D
  10. No idea if there ever was a thread like this, so sorry if it was. Search function still sucks. I recently stumbled upon this Merzbow track: Listen between 1:47 and 2:55 Sounds familiar? I'm surprised that the memorable sound of that track comes from a Merzbow track. I don't know if this is common knowledge around here (or "jazzband" as dey say 'round deez parts), but this is new to me. And they must really love that Merzbow record, seeing as they also made a remix from it: Now I'm curious to hear other tracks they might have sampled from. I'm not really aware of any. Enlighten me and perhaps others. Just dump every fact/speculation here.
  11. i wonder if you can spot the samples: they're watmm-related https://soundcloud.com/solmarama/akira-6-mix
  12. What a day. Does anyone know the origin/source of the female voice sample used in mumbly off CAT023? "You know, I don't even know why you bother talking."

    J Dilla sampling BoC?

I was listening to this track by Dilla off the Ruff Draft EP today and the hook/riff (kicks in at 0:33) really reminded me of either a BoC or Autechre track.. I was wondering if anyone else thinks the same, or if they can identify the sample? Sort of reminds me of I Will Get It Tattooed by BoC but I dont think that is it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RjsXELHVu44

  15. http://bandcamp.com/EmbeddedPlayer/album=1734011583/size=medium/bgcol=ffffff/linkcol=0687f5/tracklist=false/transparent=true/ Proud to present you this free/name your price selection of cut-up, glitchy sample based beats & instrumentals. Some beats were made as track ideas for a Hip Hop/funk/jazz project (De Beloning) I'm producing for (vinyl out end of April this year), some are influenced by *insert conspiracy theory* I've been reading about on the internets last year. With an abundance of bonus material, there should be enough neck strain material. Tread carefully.
  16. It's called Something for Nothing: MicroLoops: Electronisounds releases Something For Nothing 450 free loops & samples It's in the Dubstep, downtempo and electronica genre. The one-shot percussions samples are very useful in a variety of contexts and genres. I hope you'll enjoy the free samples!
  17. A friend of mine just released an EP on bandcamp. It's a nice mix of smooth and off-kilter beats, melodies and structures. Floaty vocals, layered harmonies, nice keyboards and bass, groovy beats and samples. It's top-notch stuff, give it a listen. I'd suggest Do Your Handcuffs Fit? or Facsimile (not sure how to embed the tracks directly in here, I thought we could now with bandcamp songs. anyway, click through...) The entire album can be found here http://zetrocmusic.bandcamp.com/album/atrophy
  18. Hi there. So, I've been making electronic music for some years now and I've been experimenting with different styles and so on... And I still keep experienting. Anyway mostly I tend to something techno-ish or similar but I did a bit of experimenting with samples I recorded from random tv-shows and put some lazy beats over them. So here's a tune called "Hierophant": https://soundcloud.com/thiefinger/hierophant ps. I'm aware that as I just joined this forum and I'm already posting my own music here so it might seem like I'm just promoting myself here but I try to comment and listen to other peoples stuff as much as I can!

  20. http://maisonblanche.bandcamp.com/ After going through a creative lull, I wanted to try my hand at a bit of vaporwave, and these 14 tracks are the result. Short, sweet, and nostalgic, Maison Blanche will make you drift to a time where VHS was king, perfume and fashion ads were cheekily sensual and that your cable preview channel was your only solace in a amnesiac night of boredom. Each tracks was named after once prominent, but long since defunct businesses in the metro New Orleans area, making this a hazy love letter to days gone past. So sit back, relax, take a deep breath, and let the vapors do the rest...
