Who isn't Steinvord? On Soundcloud, RDJ stated that he himself is not Steinvord. He also stated that he does not even know Steinvord's identity and only Grant does. I know that the identity of Steinvord is intended to be a secret, and even if such a wild guess that Steinvord is Skrillex were true, that it would be denied. Proving that Steinvord is Skrillex is not the point of this topic. Recently, John Frusciante of the Red Hot Chili Peppers has been making acid house, which demonstrates that an accomplished musician in one genre can also work in a different genre. Let that stand

I don't know the exact day of release but it was 1994 for sure when Squarepusher released his first two EPs into the world. At that point he still ran under his official name of Tom Jenkinson but the Crot EP and in particular the Stereotype EP already showed where we would be heading - into some really strange future. 20 years and 39 releases later it's time to reminisce and enjoy a career-spanning megamix running through 33 of his releases at full speed. It's only one track per release, 33 tracks in 95 minutes and - as always with Bertolt Brechtakt - vinyl only (except for two tracks whi

Just knocked up a themed mix around an 'Escape From New York' audio production from Broken Sea Audio. Few bits of the original soundtrack and dialogue in there too. It's up (with tracklist) at: https://soundcloud.com/danshoebridge/new-york-escapist-mixed-by-dan-shoebridge

I was just thinking about it. If he released these tracks back in early 2008, let's say he started working on these at like 16 yo. Has been like 6 years now, plus all of the older unreleased tracks before the EP... that's a lot of music there we are missing. Why the lack of releases? he's surely sitting under a goldmine by now. Not even short EP's or anything, no online presence to share these tracks... what a waste. Does Rephlex ruin the career of young musicians that get signed by them by being incredibly slow and elusive on their releases, or does the guy just simply do not give a fuck? he

this youtube channel has really cool music with great videos. the latest, red, is really good, and it seems like it's the third snippet from an epic song.

Clearly Rephlex's release of the Steinvord EP has hit some sort of nerve within the nerdy, geeky, music obsessive recesses of the internet. Debate has been rife ever since the tracks surfaced on Myspace. Aphex Twin being one of the supposed chief tricksters in this musical arena was immediately fingered as being an obvious candidate for the wizard behind the curtain pulling the wool over our eyes. Some who felt the quality of the material or perhaps the composition or tone didn't live up to what they had come to expect from their favourite producer denounced the material as being the work of a

I've been checking out all these articles and interviews that recently appeared with Grant and other Rephlex related people. Did anyone notice they always talk about Wisp and Monolith as the up and coming Rephlex artists, but never tell us anything about Steinvord? There was an interview with Dave Monolith himself as well. He's clearly one of the best on the Rephlex lineup, but Steinvord IMO is probably the best on Rephlex (from the new school) and he doesn't get any mentions and/or tell us anything... new up and coming releases, or any information about who is behind the music... I mean it ha

Birthdays are to get... and give. I give you an electronic session behind the wheels of steel with 60 minutes of weird rhythms and mad melodies - hand-picked and mixed by Bertolt Brechtakt. The 60 minutes mix includes tracks by Autechre, Gescom, Ital Tek, Steinvord, Squarepusher, µ-Ziq, Ital Tek, Rone, Kangding Ray, Diamond Version, Pangaea, Rone, Emanuele Di Raymondi, Two Fingers, Konx-Om-Pax, Philip Glass & Ryoji Ikeda.
