  1. Had a jam with some hardware stuff yesterday. I plan to do more these in future, just combining various gear in different combinations and see what comes out. The sequences were made earlier but the arrangement was fairly improvised. https://youtu.be/FHxqDLEHjVw

  7. Most know by now that there's official album art featuring a list of the gear purportedly used in the making of Syro: And a spreadsheet version that shows what goes on which track: https://docs.google....6S9GnEU/pubhtml But what exactly is all that gear? Here is a youtube playlist featuring demonstrations of almost all the equipment listed. The only ones omitted were rare modules, microphones, pre-amps and EQ's that weren't available on youtube, but they are all legitimate devices, searchable through google. Something to look through for your christmas shopping, a help to guess what might have gone where on the album, or just an opportunity to gawk at the best synthesizer and audio hardware on the planet. Thanks to Hexahedral for transcribing the list into plain text and adding the spreadsheet version. I might also warn you that reviewing this unreal list, device by device, might lead to a severe case of gear lust; side-effects include envy, depression, madness. Talk it out here.
  8. Hi All! Has anyone got any photos or looked at the gear Autechre are using on the 2014 tour? Thanks in advance! Titan, parts II–IV — 17:35 Another prog album from me. Probably my most cohesive yet. I hope you guys have fun listening to it, because I had a whole lot of fun making it. It's a bit of a concept album, but I'm still writing the story for it. In the meantime, just listen!

  12. "anthem for the ever-present threat of..." is old music. it's not particularly elderly in the grand scheme of human musical history, but rapidly approaching 10 years of existence, this music shows its age in its mastering, mixdowns, and production. i recently rediscovered this music on a back-up hard drive and was blown away. something two hobbyists put together for fun a decade ago sounds extremely innovative today, especially given the electronic music scene's current trends of retro styles and me-too EDM genre facsimiles. i did a little DAW magic to clean up the masters, but other than some EQing and 2012-quality mastering plugins, this music is identical to how it was crafted back in 2003 by earvalve & kochlear (now vax & some dude who makes 3d cartoons instead of guitar jams). it was made in FL version 4 and cakewalk on woefully underpowered hardware that currently resides on a toxic pile of consumer electronic waste somewhere in china. "anthem" is made up of four movements forming a larger opus. i hope you enjoy listening as much as i did rediscovering an old relic from my past.
  13. Just discovered this artist (a duo, I believe) through a 'Rustie' Pandora station. Great nostalgic sounds; never heard of him before and didn't see a thread when Google searching him on WATMM -- so check it out and let me know what you think!
