The last run of tracks is truly something special.

Yeah, I am starting to think that I may have done it a disservice by calling it DnB. It is more like Amon Tobin style IDM with some DnB elements. Some great sound design and dark Sci-Fi atmosphere.

When I think of my early days first discovering electronic music, I listened to mostly dnb and trance etc. Krust was on my radar for big kind of drum and bass anthem tracks like Warhead and his junglier works like Poison.

This album is not those tracks. Very "mature" (whatever that means) release that kind of skirts across several different genres. V high production quality and some truly amazing moments.

Nice to see this getting a good reception around here. I was hesitant to post it at first, since you don't see a whole lot of DnB being discussed (although I know there are some junglists around, big up!). But this album definitely felt special, so it seemed worth sharing.

Looks like it'll be getting some interesting remixes too: https://crosstownrebels.bandcamp.com/album/teoe-remixes-1

This was definitely what barker - utility was for me last year. That means me not being into it at first and then making a 180° turn on my opinion of the album after sitting with it for a while.

Never heard of him (to my recollection) but a friend sent me a Spotify link this morning to check it out, specifically to the track "7 Known Truths". Took 3 minutes to get off the ground but I was into it. Looked it up online and seeing it called "atmospheric drum n bass" I wasn't too excited as it's been ages since I cared about drum n bass and even back in the day it was my favorite, though I liked some for sure. Anyway he happened to catch me between albums so I said what the hell and just started it from the top. Gotta say I enjoyed it and agreed with the point above about it not really being just a DnB record, and more like Amon Tobin style IDM and good sound design. Only had one listen so far, though, but will keep it in rotation.

That's what I was hoping for after the advertisement, but it didn't really hold up for me in that regard, it felt more like 'just another d 'n' b album" after all -- not necessarily a bad one, but not really genre-defying either. No biggie though, I'll get my sound porn fix from old Objekt and new Monolake instead.
