Beyond The Yellow Haze is the debut release by Nigerian sound and installation artist Emeka Ogboh on Ostgut Ton sublabel A-TON. Combining subtle layers of ambient electronics, dance music and field recordings from the city of Lagos, Ogboh’s compositions reflect both the Nigerian city’s soundscapes as well as the artist’s increasing immersion in electronic music since moving to Berlin six years ago.

Sup watmm? I decided to throw a new ambient/drone mix together as a succesor to the one I made a while back. This one was a lot of fun to put together as I really had to focus on textures and such to make the layered transitions seamless without sounding awkward. I think it turned out really well, so have a listen and enjoy.

Vinyl and CD reissue coming in June this year on Mille Plateaux. Has remained a staple part of my listening habits since I first picked up the re-release back in 2004.

Haven't seen it on the their Bandcamp: https://forceincmilleplateaux.bandcamp.com/ but it's up for pre-order in the usual places.

I would like to share with you, beautiful people, my very first album release: "ReconoɔǝЯ".

The following is an attempt at creating a “palindromic” record, meaning that it can be listened to from both sides: “(..) an attempt to materialize the backs and forths of life (…) It is music without a starting corner, but it takes the idea of a corner and turns it into a circle. The idea of the beginning being repeated at the end and the end at the beginning…”.

Entirely recorded using archaic recording devices, such as Sony TC250, Fostex X18, Walkmans, among them.

Hope you guys enjoy it. Love you all ♥
