It’s been a decade since Andy Stott released ‘Passed Me By’, a radical re-imagining of dance music as an expression of “physical and spiritual exhaustion” (Pitchfork). What followed was a process of r

Quick first impressions: Didn't sound like the striking change of direction the press release/promo had implied. Just sounds like he's wiped his tracks clean of most of the crackle and grime that had

GUITAR in a Stott Track!

Well, actually, I like it.  It's very "minimal".

Kinda reminds me of the Road House / Twin Peaks vibes.

Bahaha I like Andy and don't mean to take too much piss but I was chuckling to myself about which direction he wanted to go visually. Do we want to go full Raster Noton IDM with the graphics or some kind of jellyhead chavcore rap? He chucked it all in for good measure lol.

album is good. a bit more beats and such than expected but it is definitely a pretty somber and tense collection overall. Dove Stone was fucking beautiful on first listen.

edit: oh and that intro track is :catsob: & great

Only on track 4 at the moment (Don't Know How) and I'm really enjoying it, this track in particular. If the album continues to be this good, I can see this being one of his best for me.

His last album was okay I guess, although I only really like two tracks of it. Same thing with his Millie and Andrea release this year.
But this new single sounds very nice !
