You’re trapped forever on an island that has everything you need to play any type of media. You can only have:

5 albums

5 books (graphic novels, magazines etc)

5 movies

1 tv show season

5 video games (or board games, etc)

5 musical instruments

1 podcast

What would you choose?

La Monte Young - The Well-Tuned Piano

This. It has so much to give every time I listen to it (which is not very often, it's a grueling exercise at six hours). I wish I could've been there to see Marian Zazeela's Magenta Lights and hearing the piece live, completely brainless on a variety of exotic designer psychoactive substances.

I would probably consider Young's The Second Dream Of The High-Tension Line Stepdown Transformer as well, the concept and execution is fantastic. That's about as drone as you can get with wind instruments.

Mr. Bungle- Disco Volante

Faith No More- Angel Dust

Orbital- In Sides

Skinny Puppy- Bites

Depeche Mode- Violator

(if allowed more I would definitely have afx saw2, uziq in pine effect, and probably glassworks)

Annihilation- Keith Giffen

Sinestro Corps War- Geoff Johns

Return of the King- Tolkien

Out of the Silent Planet- Lewis

Lost Light- James Roberts

-books are tough because I’ve never read the same thing twice (except the hobbit and chronicles of narnia) so I’d probably bring new stuff, but this is more of a best of anyways.

Terminator 2

Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me

Empire Strikes Back

Light Years

Princess Bride

(if it was more I’d probably choose a clockwork orange and Pineapple Express for a stupid comedy)

Arrested Development season 3

(curb season 2 and 3 are good too, it seems like after the year 2000 every show has a stellar season 3- comedies at least)

Secret of Mana

Final Fantasy 9

Megaman 2

Rygar

Chrono Cross (just because of how many different ways it could be gone thru)

Some type of akai mpc, either the 2000xl or the live

808

bass

yamaha dx-11

303

(I guess a distortion pedal would be a must, I’d sub out the 303 for it)

Rabbits or Tanis podcast, can’t decide. Probably Rabbits.

This was a lot harder than I expected- the tv season and albums were the toughest decisions for me.

Some of my friends did this but a top 3 of all, except instruments, I added that and dropped 2 off seasons of shows and podcasts. Choosing 3 albums and books would have been too hard for me, haha, but I could live with one podcast and one show

I love the 4th season of the wire, and season 2, which was crazy because at first I hated season 2. But then by season 4, you are prepared for new characters/story, so it was just really good.
