Many COVID-19 patients have reported symptoms affecting the ears, including hearing loss and tinnitus. Dizziness and balance problems can also occur, suggesting that the SARS-CoV-2 virus may be able to infect the inner ear.

A new study from MIT and Massachusetts Eye and Ear provides evidence that the virus can indeed infect cells of the inner ear, including hair cells, which are critical for both hearing and balance. The researchers also found that the pattern of infection seen in human inner ear tissue is consistent with the symptoms seen in a study of 10 COVID-19 patients who reported a variety of ear-related symptoms.

The researchers used novel cellular models of the human inner ear that they developed, as well as hard-to-obtain adult human inner ear tissue, for their studies. The limited availability of such tissue has hindered previous studies of COVID-19 and other viruses that can cause hearing loss.''

Many Venetian Snares fans have reported symptoms affecting the ears, including hearing loss and tinnitus. Dizziness and balance problems can also occur, suggesting that Aaron Funk's claimed 'music' may be able to infect the inner ear.

The researchers also found that the pattern of infection seen in human inner ear tissue is consistent with the symptoms seen in a study of the only 10 remaining Venetian Snares fans on the planet, who reported a variety of ear-related symptoms.

The researchers used novel cellular models of the human inner ear that they developed, as well as hard-to-obtain adult human inner ear tissue, for their studies. The limited availability of such tissue has hindered previous studies of Ventian Snares and other electronic musicians that can cause hearing loss.

One of the first things we learned about the 'rona was that it's transmissible through cum. Once we know its origins, and all the chaos that will ensue, who will avenge the negative PR that cum has suffered as a result of this costly global catastrophe? Cum Law™ is already being theorized and established in academia, so you know shit's on.

Went to a techno boat party in Amsterdam where my brother had to DJ, and there was an outbreak of covid there. Me, my brother and a few other people I knew from there all got it. Been vaccinated (Pfizer, 2x), still got fever, headaches, loss of smell and taste, etc. One week since I started getting symptoms now. Today was supposed to be the last day of quaraintine if I didn't have anymore symptoms, but alas. Yesterday was the first day I tried being active inside, clean up and stuff, and I was dead tired afterwards. Headaches since.

Upside: I can smell peanut butter a tiny bit again, after a week of not being able to smell or taste anything.
Downside: coffee also smells like peanut butter a bit now.

I love that my bosses don't give a shit when I sass customers who won't wear masks correctly. It's become good fun to speak to grown ass adults like they're children. "Oh! It looks like you haven't quite figured out how masks go on - let me show you." Or "Now ma'am, the mask stays on whether or not I'm watching you. It's important to behave when we're in public." I got a real mean dowager stare for that one.

Yikes! No bueno, dude.
I’ve had 2 colds since September. Now it’s just a reflex to cancel my plans and get tested for Covid whenever I feel a little stuffy / scratchy / headachy. Thankfully, there’s still a free PCR testing site in a park close to home. In the pre-vaccine days it was like a dozen outdoor tents of coughing people and a line of about 500 people stretched around the block. Now it’s just 2 people at a folding table.
