Trojan's box-sets are a whole universe of sounds as is Lee Perry's Arkology release. For something more obsure, LP's "Kung-Fu Meets the Dragon" is a lost gem:

Check out Primal Screams Echo Dek, I'm not a huge fan of Gillespies vocals, but here he's drowned out in dub by Adrian Sherwoods production. Killer album.

been looking more and more into this genre.. fuckin 1976!! this stuff is so ahead of its time..

 

 

I remember reading that the sounds Lee Scratch Perry produced in The Black Ark was so ahead of it's time and made with such basic equipment was and remains baffling! No one is sure how he produced such magic.
