Raccoon Acid - Last Compilation

Some of you here may remember me releasing albums as Raccoon Acid several years ago. Well, I've since repurposed that name and I've been using it to release edited, combined, or otherwise redone versions of my past work, which had previously been released under a variety of names. The reason for this is that a lot of my old music wasn't up to my current standards, so I wanted to make it more enjoyable. (Tracks sometimes went on for too long, had bad parts, were poorly mastered, had too few ideas, etc. Not what I would consider "finished" nowadays.)

I had done this to much of my old music, but there were still many old songs, especially those from 2005-2008, which I didn't know what to do with until now. I was inspired to make an album consisting of a bunch of short songs. It's about 2 hours long and it has a lot of songs that bring up good memories for me. I also included some old, unreleased songs which I found while searching through emails.

I hope you enjoy it, and I hope the above story about revisiting and reworking older material is inspirational to you.

My keeping tabs on EKT work is egregious to say the least, but I've always been a huge fan of your Raccoon Acid work! Please don't tell me you're killing the moniker! It's unique, catchy and fun, and you've made soo much of it. Big mistake to sleep on this (looking at you other EKTers and WATMMers). Can totally relate wanting to tidy up past work, consider yourself lucky that you still had access to all this material, I've lost track of how many hard-drives of stuff that died on me over the years. I also recognize the need to polish old ideas that were really great at the time although the execution was lacking. Shame so much of my stuff from that period was lost. Anyway, your harmony and sound selection is so enjoyable, and the beats are absolutely seamless - this was a great journey! So freaking raw and excellent at so many stages. Excellent mixing and crossfading too!

Thanks chim! I'm really glad you enjoyed it. You've made me reconsider not releasing any new Raccoon Acid material. Since summon.exe has strayed from the acid sound a bit, maybe Raccoon Acid could step back in and return to it.

It always sucks to lose stuff you've made. I've deleted my stuff a few times, only to get it back with file recovery programs or finding old hard drives. Now I try to avoid doing that and I also keep it backed up in the cloud.
