Favourite song(s) from each album/recorded work

As long as people are around here and asking multitudes of ridiculous questions such as 'what clothes do you think BoC likes to buy at K-Mart?' and the like, i thought i'd add to the fun.

Which song is your favorite from each album and why? this can also include Boc Maxima and Old Tunes/A Few Old Tunes, and all the website clips if need be.

AFOT Volume 1 & 2 - Since these are split, I guess two songs wouldn't hurt. Forest Moon for Vol. 1 because it is super pretty and moves me greatly. For Vol. 2 Zander Two would have to be a fave because of the funky beat.

Old Tunes Tape - Again, the sides of this are split across two discs (since I'm too poor to afford an iPod). For Side A, AudioTrack 6 blows my mind even to this day. So minimal, and the synths are like trains blowing by. For Side B, AudioTrack10 because I was amazed at how old The Smallest Weird Number was.

Boc Maxima - A tie between Red Moss and Whitewater. Red Moss has some of the best beats in a BoC song, while Whitewater is quite childlike and lifting.

Twoism - Melissa Juice. Short, but ultimately sweet. Gets stuck in my head on a regular basis.

Hi Scores - Nlogax. It took awhile to grow on me. In fact, I hardly listened to this ep at all until one day it struck me. The synth build up at the end getting louder and louder made my head spin (as I was hungover at the time) and I actually managed to enjoy it.

MHTRTC - Aquarius. ORANGE! yeah, that's right...anyhoo. Its probably the highlight of the album for me, and tickles me in ways none of you can imagine.

IABPOITC - The title track is what really amazes me here for some reason. Sure, it gets old fast, but the vocodered voice repeating that line is amazing. Makes us want to join a cult of some sort.

Geogaddi - Julie and Candy. The beat is quite wild through headphones. I also saw "Season of the Witch" (the movie where plenty of this albums sample come from) at Blockbuster...'twas a strange event to hear and see the lines in their original context.

The Campfire Headphase - '84 Pontiac Dream. The use of traffic noise in the background is quite different for BoC. But the song is good, and the little mangled guitar solo at the end is totally worth it.

Trans-Canada Highway - Skyliner. People are still arguing about this one. Skyliner really moves me, as simple as it is. The little synthesized cymbal that comes in at the end of the song completes the beat, makes it whole, and gives me an orgasm.

Website clips - Trails is quite possibly the most beautiful electronic song I've heard in my life. Robot Analysis' mix of all the versions was amazing.

Anybody else 'round here feel like sharing :flower:

From the ones I have:

Twoism - Probably See Ya Later. It's funky as fuck and that bass riff totally pwns everything... its also one of their most un-boc tracks imo

MHTRTC - Rue the Whirl - That repeated drum loop could go on for another couple of minutes and it wouldn't bother me. Aesthetically perfect.

IABPOITC - Amo Bishop Roden - mainly for the bass that comes in half-way through, this was probably the hardest choice though - the whole album is sheer class.

Geogaddi - Julie and Candy - it was close between this, Alpha and Omega and Sunshine Recorder. This one won.

The Campfire Headphase - Slow this Bird Down. I think. I cant remember.

Old Tunes - M9 - Cyberpunk awesomeness!

I've noticed Whitewater is a favorite of many, myself included. Lawdy lawd, how great is the melody in that track? Onnnnnnnne Twoooo, Threeee Fourrrr, Fiveeee Sixxxxx, Sevennnn Eighttttt, Nineeeeeeee. Then that counter melody that comes in at the middle, the messed up vocals, the beat, fuck, everything about that song is just amazing.

lawl

One of the best BoC tracks ever.

edit - btw, at 5:37, when you just hear the higher pitched synth alone, and then the lower synth, wow.

Got to agree with you there, Whitewater's one of my faves too. Why it never made it any further than Boc Maxima is beyond me.

Red Moss is another song that should have been given a proper release. But then, listening to their live sets, they've obviously got a lot more amazing songs stashed away that we'll never hear.
