The Aphex Twin Music on TV

Dear God, someone used Schottkey 7th Path in a trailer? That song is too divine to be the background for anything... I think it's hilarious how the media interprets things like SAW II as simple "background music."

In terms of adverts, dunno if this was up here already but when I was in the States I saw a commercial for "Bank of America" or something backed by Girl/Boy.

I wish I could remember the name but ten years (or so) ago I saw a National Geographic spelunking documentary that had "I" from SAW1. Sorry if this has already been flagged.

There was a Gary Rhodes cookery programme in the mid 90s that used various tracks from SAW1 for the end shots of the finished food. I couldn't listen to the album for ages after that without getting hungry.

D-Scape. About thirty minutes ago on BBC2 Artsnight (arts meets the sciences), during the Oculus Rift VR part.

Channel 4 used diskhat1 in an advert earlier this year. I've heard Blue Calx on an episode of Top Gear, and also a couple of BoC tracks. Apparently Minipops was played in an episode of Made in Chelsea too, which is pretty funny. And I also remember hearing IZ-US on Wife Swap like 10+ years ago.

Video games... Not only did Rockstar put Z-Twig on one of the GTA IV in game radio stations, but they used it for one of the trailers. Always thought that was pretty cool. Windowlicker was on a GTA V station. Come to Daddy was used in Motorstorm: Pacific Rift.

As for films, Nanou 2 and Avril 14th appeared in Dead Man's Shoes and Four Lions, respectively. Pretty sure those are both Warp flicks anyway so I guess it makes sense.

On the "Prime" movie chanels on telenet digital TV in Belgium they play hexagon (SAWII) between each movie when they tell the time schedule. Must have aired thousands of times cus they have had this song there for a couple of years

Pitchfork: You use a lot of music to score the tone of a scene—Aphex Twin's "Come to Daddy" is used for that nightmarish fantasy where you're imagining yourself as the parent of these bratty kids.

Aziz Ansari: That was Zach's idea.

ZC: It made us both laugh. We're both very big Aphex Twin fans. And he shows up a couple times in the series. Growing up as a kid watching "120 Minutes", that video will always be the total personification of an absolute nightmare to me. It just popped into my head.

To elaborate upon:

Episode 1 - "Plan B" - Come To Daddy (Pappy Mix) - Around 23 minute mark

Episode 10 - "Finale" - Corn Mouth - Around 1 minute mark

Just saw half of that Nicolas Cage 8mm detective movie about snuff porn killings,

Come to daddy played a few times, was quite surprised when the breaks suddently began playing! ,

of course it was in association with the creepy pornographer and killer...but i guess it worked.

Flicking through channels earlier and saw that segment pop up on Gogglebox. Proper caught me by surprise. Def one of SAW2's gems.
