Cipater

...under-rated. Everybody raves about Chiastic's masterpiece, Cichli, but damn people are forgetting what is the best opening of an Autechre album (yes over Kalpol Intro). It's like they both are telling you in 1996 : "So you thought that electronic music was only pling-plongs?". Tonal ranges are just

Other underrated tracks? 444. Dropp. Doctrine. Yulquen. Iera. Corc.

Complete agreement. I find Cipater to be much better than Cichli, which I think is a bit overrated(but not much). Cipater was the first Autechre track I ever heard, after I randomly selected Chiastic Slide as my first AE experience.

Backtracking from 'Confield', 'Chiastic Slide' was the one that made everything drop completely into place, and 'Cipater' the track that kickstarted the whole thing. That song is one of my faves too. I think 'Chiastic Slide' appears to have been a little underrated.

Cipater is incredible. It's one of my favorite tracks by them. It's definitely my Favorite on the "Chiastic Slide" album. It's also on the Warp Compilation disk WAP100, which is how I originally came across it.
