What is the best way to go about having samples which can have their start point varied? At the moment Im doing something with some singing, I sliced up the recording in recycle so each slice is maybe a few seconds long, and loaded it in NN19... then put the sample start knob on the velocity settings to max. So when the velocity is zero the slice plays from the start. But when the velocity is at maximum, the sample plays from somewhere in the middle, and I dont know how to make it start from any later. I dont want to use shorter slices because it will fuck up the singing

Any help appreciated, if Im not making sense let me know that as well...

load the rex into the NN-XT and then you can tell it when you want each sample to start from 0%-100%, 0 = very beginning, 100 = very end.

you can also adjust the end of the sample in the same way.

you don't have to slice the samples with the nn-xt. just load several time the same sample and select the start moment for each key. that way you can sequence more easily (you don't have to play all the keys to get all the sample).
