A Fantasy For A Woman Who Lost Her Memories

So, this is my final project from school, an 8 minute orchestral piece.

It's a mockup (obviously), so there may be some parts that sound fake, so bear with me. I was going to do a better mock up, with better sounds, but frankly I dont want to invest all the time in doing another mockup of an entire orchestra right now... maybe someday later. For now, I just hope you enjoy the piece.

Its pretty soft in the first half, so you might need to put your volume up, but just beware, it gets FFF in the second half.

Anyways, enjoy...

I never really liked this part of the forum because deep down Im a nice person and find it hard to tell people I think there music is shite or to lie, but having decided to give it another go I have to say i really like this, as you said the sounds leave something to be desired (although towards the end it had grown on me, kind of giving it a really playful vibe).

Yeah so at the start the sound put me off, but especially from 4 mins onwards I was enjoying the ride!

This is gorgeous. Very, very well done.

I think especially the horns sounded a bit fakey, but te strings were very well done. The woodwinds weren't bad either actually. Drums were spot on! The big crashing swells at like 2min in really made me feel as though I was in a concert hall.

What was used to simulate the Orchestra? Was this Garritan?

Thanks guys!

I used the lite version of VSL that comes with Kontakt. Its good for sketches and composing... but for a realistic emulation of an orchestra, it fails in a few places. Someday when I'm bored, I'll do a better mockup, but for now I am more interested in spending my time composing new stuff.
