The synth used by BOC often mistaken for a CS80 is a Crumar with a BOC emblem covering the name of the synth on the back.

 

A Crumar Bit1/Bit99? Or another Crumar synth?

Weird, I too was taken in by this BoC legend.

 

However, I still think Vangelis used it on the Blade Runner soundtrack... now that's some sweet CS 80

 

huh? why would he have used a then 10 year old synth on a futuristic soundtrack? The filter sweeps etc on Blade Runner are pure 80's Japanese analogue

I'm beginning to understand why the CS80 is considered the most fun synth to play...

I would like to touch one because the Blade Runner soundtrack is possibly the first piece of electronic music that touched ME.... emotionally

 

edit: there's such a sense of brooding power under those CS80 chords. Oh yes
