Nothing quite says amature like hearing a sound you've already heard before, ive even used a few of the samples i heard in your first song. Be careful to tweak change and fuck everything you use in your music, lest you sound like a biter (unless of course you want a sample to be recognized, ie blondie :).

OK, so I used samples freely in public domain, and elsewhere I noted where I got them. How does using a sample you've heard make me an "amateur." I'm assuming you recorded all the breaks in your music. Thats a pretty broad statement that, actually slightly offends me. I'm not an amateur I live off of the money I make selling tracks to artists and production companies. But whatever man, thanks for listening I guess.

slide - really beautiful/sad track.....I like everything about it.....it has a classic DJ Shadow sound to it.....space jazz.....this one is a definite keeper.

fanplan - this track has a Prefuse 73 sound to it with some hints of Odd Nosdam's basement/tape sounds.....nice.

cassidyinterlude - very cool.....I really dug this one as well.....I like the piano.....I would like to hear it without the vocal samples and the tempo slowed own(instead of just right at the end).....I think that this is the type of track that works up and down tempo.

e2e2e - interesting track.....it is a different style than the first 3(which is cool).....it has an industrial sound to it.....I like the vocals quite a bit, but they could be a little more prominent.....I like the change up around 1:49.....this is another nice track.....especially the second half.

newdub - cool track.....no thoughts on this one.....just a nice/mellow listen.....i like it around the 1:41 mark to the end especially.

These are really nice tracks(slide, fanplan, cassidyinterlude, and newdub)

slide: great stuff. put it in my playlist and when it started playing (after half a minute more or less) i suddenly thought "what's this?" and checked and it was your track. i remember your stuff had a lot of potential when i first downloaded your tracks (i've got many of them). now it sounds like the potential is a lot more exploited. dunno if the other tracks will give me the same impression...

fanplan: prefuse springs to mind indeed. sounds pretty good. dunno what else i could say. nothing really mind-blowing, it just sounds good, maybe too similar to p73. that said the mood is different.

newdub: sounds good as well, not my cup of tea but i still have the impression that you've improved your production technique a lot. sounds more coherent.

e2e2e: again, very nice. the intro is quite exciting and makes you wonder what's next. :( don't like the voice, reminds me of massive attack... like the synths that enter then. 1:49 v. nice change. lovely, lovely, lovely (had to write it thrice). could've developped into something more i dunno, fresher tho it already sounds fresh, could've been even more.

cassidy interlude: fresh again. reminds of mf doom :) like the old school side.

glad you're back and glad you liked my last output :) btw if you want some more check out my ep "4 songs of dusks and dawns" @ http://audioaubergine.com for "officially" released sounds! :)

Sorry, didnt mean to offend.

Whenever I hear a sound i've heard before, the song tends loses some of its ambiguity and individuality. You will rarely hear any successful electronica artist use a straight sample whether it be from a CD or from the factory sound bank.

I myself have only in the past couple of months began to change my beats and make my own synths to make them unique. It's such a simple and enjoyable process that i dont really see "public domain" as a good excuse for being lazy.

Don't feel offended, its criticism to help you grow as an artist. I think there is actually a lot of merit to modifying your sound, its just one more thing you can customize about your style of music and i think it should be embraced.

You must not listen to Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, Snares, Daft Punk...pretty much every single successful electronic artists have used instantly recognizable samples. The real thing is, since you think you know where some of my samples come from, why dont you remake the song? I mean I must not be changing or altering the samples in any way, right? Youre being a condescending fucking prick and id appreciate it if you stop posting that shit.

Jesus, you need to CALM DOWN.

1: I said rarely. I listen to all those bands besides snares and though i know they have at one point used straight factory samples, their better works are original.

2: I did not say "All of your songs are straight factory samples wow your music sucks balls". I'm not going to remake your music just to win an internet argument

3: How am i being condescending at all? I'm trying to help you progress as an artist, and i'm trying to do it nicely. All i'm suggesting, is that you avoid using straight factory samples. If you cant take criticism, then dont distribute your music to the public.

You're over-reacting. If you can't take (mild) criticism you shouldn't post here.
