Truly amazing! Very classy indeed. There's a real subtlety and restraint yet variety to your mad tweakage that never gets boring. I'd have to say that you are probably my favourite EKTer. Is there anyway I can get more of your work? I have pheminex, t-shirt acid fetish, the reed cutter... am I missing anything, I'll probably just look back through YLC... anyway keep it up, post more and keep it up!

where do the brass come from?

it's quite a strange tune, but enjoyable and interesting, actually it's strange in the good way :) deserves several listens i guess. you got other stuff online? (apart from that lonely bioptic mp3 on your website)

edit: WOW! that 5:48 change is wicked! i love that kind of surprises! could evolve to something much longer from there! deserves imo. shouldn't end there!

the brass: i bought a trumpet at a carboot sale on sunday and this was the resulting track. i also have a friend who played some sax parts.

hehe yeh i like that change. usually i would build the track into a new section at that point but i always seem to write really long tunes. so i decided to stop this one before it turned into another 10min monster.

theres 4 jungle tracks on myspace/splagawagawaga but again, ill upload more onto here.

i keep meaning to sort out the website but i never get round to it.

Mmm well putting together .... some good samples here and it seems well crafted. Like the addition of that dubsteppy bass ... that was unexpected. Pretty funky but a lot to take in. I feel I'm in the presense of something profound. Now its on a junglist tip ... nice. I think it needs a tune though to underpin it all as those trumpets/saxes etc as it all sounds a bit free jazz if you get me and a little hard to follow. Its now developing into a 'tune' for the last couple of mins but yeah I wish that came in a bit earlier. The early part is essentially open ended and trippy and the last few minutes are more kinda tune focused.

yep i think u pretty much hit the nail on the head structure-wise. This tune has been extremely difficult to get right and to finish. i normally write very quickly but ive had to take alot longer with this due to not having the spare time to get really stuck into it. As a result my ears have become too used to the track, and ive 'killed' the tune.

nice critique

gave your jungle tracks a listen already but i like that one way more. i want to go back to "real" instruments myself. thinking bout buying a guitar and a clarinet :) don't have the cash tho. and well there's no problem with 10 minutes monster imo :)

im trying to get back to more real instrumentation myself. the entire time ive made music its been via a computer so ive spent years using synths with no real time spent on real audio. but it makes for an interesting cross-over when combining the 2.

im also a sucker for the 10min monster :)

listening now ..this is really good stuff

ooh sweet change at the end

are you the person who did inverse acid (like that one a lot)

cause i have it in my iTunes library as by "tech diff's mate sam"

and splagawaga seems to ring bells

This track builds really nicely, yet retains very minimal in the production department --and it works. Some really tasty drum programming bits. Nice harmonization on the brass. The light buzzy pad that creeps in is a very nice touch, leads to a particularly sweet ambient section. And then the glitch-hop cap off. Nice. Good track.

*twice I've glanced at this thread and read it as "Tranformation Bukkake" --you should rename it that.

cheers for the reply. i wasnt sure whether or not to spend more time fannying with the drums. ive listened to this so much i cant really tell how it sounds anymore. although a couple of bits i still like.

the track is named after the carpet at work. there was about 50 boxes of it stacked up, all with 'transformation buckeye' in massive writing on the side. very strange.

Soundquality bliss, nice samples drenched in reverb..love the compression on the beats, funky programming without overdoing it with the standard dsp section every few measures..like to hear this live, loud on a massive pa.

thanks for the comments. im mighty pleased with the kicks. The snares im not so sure about, but no 1 gives a shit about treble these days anyway. hopefully sometime ill get to blast this out, ive sent some music off to the bangface crew so hopefully they may give me a slot sometime. ive definately blown a few more decibels of my hearing making this in an attempt to check how it would sound through PA :)

beep

Amazing samples, melodies, build up, sound...

This track is worthy of my bukkake

cheers buddy ;)

beautiful programming, mixing, etc. one thing i love about your tunes is that it sounds like there is nothing extra. everything is just exactly enough.
