Since RDJ has been releasing records since I was an infant. I wouldn't know what happened back in early 90's. My question is when did Aphex Aphex start getting big in the electronic music scene. I read that he did get alot of listeners though his Analogue Bubblebath 1 record when it was played on the radio, but when did the Aphex Twin fans really start pouring through?

if you are american.

but he was allover the NME in the early nineties in the UK. back when it was still relevant and sold tens (maybe hundreds) of thousand of copies a week.

he was also on national radio in early '93 - back when i was a boy i can remember lining up my tape on my old Alba stereo to tape the Sheffield Sound City gig @ hallam yoonie on Radio 1. I possibly still have the tape in my loft - its probably got mark f'in Goodyears voice as introduction but.

as you were......

K, then the better question would be. When was the time in his career when people started to notice.

come to daddy.

yes, considering this has been a career (of sorts) there's always been a growth in interest - coupled with regular dropping-out of interest, of course - but the major point at which you couldn't imagine people into "alternative forms of music" not knowing about aphex twin was in 1997. oh well. some of you got here too late :)

yeah why the hate?

anyway, you guys are talking about the song or the EP?

song. and it's weird ass "remixes". other than that, pretty good album.

the EP is alright, but the song is pretty average. i mean it's not a bad song, it's just not a great song. it's boring really, repetitive, not much going on the whole time. those distorted vocals, meh. the whole thing is meh. the end is amazing though.

As RDJ said, CTD started out as a joke. I imagine it's the kind of quality that he keeps unreleased because it isn't good enough (as opposed to the super-awesome unreleased stuff).

I think the "Little Lord Faulteroy Mix" is alright, but the fact that the "Mummy Mix" was released instead of, say, CAT023 really annoys me.
