Mercury (demo) (7:24, 10665984 bytes)

it's a remake of an older rooftop access track, i didn't quite like the sound of the old version so i decided to record it with mostly live instruments!

anyway, it's still quite sketchy at the moment, i still need to add more guitar to the 5/4 section and add something to the guitar noise breakdown - and work on the levels, get things sitting nicely etc.

but i decided to post it here because i know some of you guise like my post-rock stuff, and i got quite excited by how this sounds after about 8 continuous hours working on it.

oh, and before anyone asks about the noisy bit from ~4:32 onwards, yes it's a guitar, and yes i know it sounds like the noisy guitar solo in 'after the flood' by talk talk, let's just call it a homage or something zole!

Nice. I like this stuff a lot. Makes a good change from listening to electronic stuff all the time.

this created and sustained a nice mood but i was looking for it to be more hyperkinetic

heheh well yeah it's not heavy like the original version, but i'm not so much into making heavy or fast stuff anymore!

i'm looking forward to this album!

thanks! it'll most likely be released on laridae as an mp3 release, but there will also be a hardcopy version if you want nice packaging. it's going to be finished fairly soon, i only have to finish this song!

i really like this, not a huge fan of the pad though

thanks! by pad do you mean the synth solo?

Listened to this yesterday and I have to say it was very agreeable. No crits off the top of my head. Very easy and contemplative shit to put on when you need it. Thumbs up.

woo! but the question is, would anyone *buy* the physical version? not for me to make money, basically to cover production costs (covers will be hand-made)
