best fall album in a long long time.

50 year old man is stunning (the same track in three styles with a weird-ass banjo interlude), and the nod to dubstep on exploding chimney is hilarious.

there's another that i am SURE samples/apes/mocks steve miller band's abracadabra, lol

even mark's missus track is great.

i picked up 'are you are missing winner' recently and its awful. i'm still buying the old ones so the new one isnt so interesting to me yet. maybe when i'm finished the 70's and 80's and desperate for more mes.

just picked up cerebal caustic (90s i know but it was cheap), room to live and b-sides.

he's pretty coherent on this one!

its pretty sad to listen to how sharp his voice used to be and how bad it was during the 90s.

i just finished his 'renegade' book. semi interesting read but mostly just "i did this i did that". good story about george best in there.

One of the interesting revelations in Sheppard's book, disclosed by Eno's long-term wife, Anthea Norman-Taylor, is that he chooses never to know how much he is being paid for any job commission on the grounds that it might influence the amount of time and attention he pays to it.

eno is the man

i recently picked up middle class revolt from 94. it came after the infotainment scam which was apparentely more popular. which is weird coz infotainment is a piece of shit compared to middle class revolt. i also got the one after - 'cerebal caustic' but haven't got into that one yet. also got room to live which is ok but disappointing whnen you think it was created between hex and perverted by lanuage. another album that everyone seems to love is grotesque which has ts moments but overall isnt half as good as dragnet. maybe just need more time with it. still haven't heard the new one. bothered

Imperial Wax Solvent is fucking superb album. I wouldn't say it was quite in the same league as Hex or Perverted By Language myself, but it's definitely amongst their best albums. 50 Year Old Man is brilliant. The Fall's lengthy songs usually are.

That's the CD I've got. Mine doesn't sound great admittedly, but I got it in about 1988 or sometime though and all CDs from back then seem to sound shit now. Still one of their best albums, especially with all the singles on it.

this album has been growing on me. these tracks sound great live. just listening to their "from the basement" session and its really good, except maybe latchkey kid which i don't care for anyway.
