just got this email:

After six years' worth of intensive, retina-reddening, banana- and tea-fuelled all-night studio bothering, prolonged by several generous chunks of task-avoidance owing to the general distracting/tiring nature of an enthusiastic life in a London full of cinema companions and friends with supreme cooking skills, Max Tundra's third album is finally ready. "Parallax Error Beheads You" will be released by Domino on 13th October this year.

got this email the other day. the album will be available as a can of soup plus downloads.

"Will Get Fooled Again", the first new Max Tundra single for some considerable time, will be released this Monday (29th September) on Domino, on limited edition 7" single and download. Pre-order your copy here and now:

http://dominorecordco.com/uk/singles/04-09...t-fooled-again/

...and check out the spectacular video here:

http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseacti...ideoID=42998041

Talking of pre-ordering, not only can you pre-order the vinyl, CD and eventually the download of Max Tundra's forthcoming album "Parallax Error Beheads You" here:

http://dominorecordco.com/uk/albums/11-08-...or-beheads-you/

...but for the first time in Domino (and possibly world) history this album will be released as a tin of kosher chicken soup. As well as containing a hearty meal for one, the tin will come with a unique code, enabling the soup-purchaser to download DRM-free 320kps MP3s of not only "Parallax Error Beheads You", but also the hitherto-unreleased album "Best Friends" - an early-21st-Century compendium of reinterpretations by some of Max Tundra's friends of each track from "Some Best Friend You Turned Out To Be". The extremely talented pals in question were unsigned at the time of recording, and their versions of these tunes are rather special, lending the whole compilation a very different atmosphere to the original record. "Best Friends" has been waiting for a suitable moment to emerge, and this soupy edition is currently the only format for these tasty cover versions. Pre-order yours here:

The Ben And Becky Show will return to Diesel U:Music Radio at 1700h UK time on Tuesday 7th October. Hear Max Tundra and his sister Becky play music from their childhood and beyond, in an atmosphere of conviviality and squabbling. The radio site is currently down for maintenance, but check back here on the day to listen live:

http://dum.diesel.com/radio

...and Max Tundra's Rotogravure, a weekly selection of an hour of strange/exciting/fun records, continues on London's Resonance FM, every Saturday at 1430h UK time. Listen live online here (or tune into 104.4FM if you live near central London), and check out Resonance's other great shows in the mean time (Jonny Trunk's OST Show is particularly highly recommended):

This album is super cool. I feel like I'm going to be able to listen to this so many times and still hear new stuff and get into it in new ways.

Word up Max.

my can of soup arrived today, but the code for the downloads didn't work, so I sent a message to customer service. also, the soup is very high in sodium.

I enjoyed that, thanks for posting it.

I agree it's not a good party album, way too busy. I wish it were though! I love listening to it and catch new things in it every time. Great album, one of my favorites this year, although I wouldn't recommend it to everyone. I really want to put one of the tracks on my 'Best of 2008' mix but I can't find one accessible enough (the rest of the music is largely party music).
