Whoa guys, chill out, you're making AE sound boring for me.

I'm honestly not all that bothered by preset sounds, as long as they're put together well then I'm down. I love Quaristice and Untilted so FUCK OFF

:)

basically what you are saying is learning facts about AE makes you like their music less, interesting !

Ah, come on man, you know I was being facetious. Just bored at work!

i wish i could play braid, your avatar is making me fuckin jealous thats why i had to take my anger out on you , apologies!

Hehe, I was about to post my LCC attempt. You can an awful demo of it here. I should redo this, film it and Youtube it really. And as said the punch isn't quite there, I expect the compressor settings aren't quite right - the MD Dynamix is a very odd compressor.

Personally, I love the Elektron gear. I've heard people say it all sounds very Autechre-y and that's all it does... but probably only because people push it that way. Fiddling around with the MD and Monomachine recently I've really got into weird danceable stuff. Proper beats, basslines and riffs, but the most screwed up sounds over the top. IMO they're the most innovative musical instrument manufacturer out there at the moment, their kit always amazes me how user-friendly it is etc. etc. That MD video is what pushed me into buying one.

Untilted's my favourite Ae album and Hemsby/Pontins is my fave live set... probably due predominantly to the gear used. Most of the LCC sounds are just the default settings of the EFM machines tweaked slightly. That snare is VERY easy to get on the MD. Sublimit also sounds fairly easy, I should have a proper go at "reverse engineering" some more Ae tracks at some point.

XXX - Just get a MIDI controller (Bitstream 3X perhaps? Ae use one hehe) - the Elektron gear has so much MIDI capability, every synthesis parameter can be controlled via CC. More via Sysex... though that is a little tricky.

here are some corrections:

blyz castl was done by rob with an mpc using some machinedrum samples amongst others.

melody on chenc 9 is from nord lead.

drums on perlence are mpc.

90101 is mostly mpc and nord lead.

that snare from the live set (lcc etc), thats machinedrum.

simm, well its not monomachine, a clue is in the name, also fermium is same machine mostly.

pro radii is samples, field recording, cut up and played on mpc, (akai filters).

Hi Sean. :P

It's certainly someone in the know!

I wonder what samples are in the UW if anyone's still listening out there? :whistling:

well kind of except for the part where they deny the bass drums on perlence clearly being

from the machindrum, which any owner of a machinedrum can easily identify

I was actually buying most of those track recipes ( they sounded legit) until i saw that. or maybe if it was sean who posted that he just got lazy and/or forgot he used those on that track :whistling:

im sure rook will also notice the oddness of this statement.

Most of the samples used on that song come stock in the sample ROM

of the machinedrum UW. Why would autechre sample into their MPC sample presets from the machinedrum?
