let's say you were asked to put together a mix of Xmas music. what are some songs you would put on an awesome mix of cool versions of xmas songs?

and what would you put on your mix of the shittiest most horrible fucking scrape-your-ass-with-a-cowbell-cheese-grater xmas shitfuck music asshole god damn music ever?

i would probably start by putting Paul McCartney's "wonderful xmastime" on both mixes, lol!

i would also but the 'xmastime is here' song from Charlie Brown on teh awesome mix.

and i would definitely put 'last xmas' by whoever those sissies are, on the shithole mix.

:santa:

I can't think of too many other xmas songs i really dig on other than "Christmas in Hollis" by Run DMC

For absolute worst, you don't need to make a mix, Narada has already done that for you(my mom owned it, my Dad usually *never* had the balls to express himself to her but he wouldn't hesitate to bitch about that cd).

hehehe.. speaking of that song "last christmas" - I guess it's by George Michael or Wham or something.. Anyway, my favourite grocery store is a giant Vietnamese store called My Thanh, and they frequently have pretty terrible music playing on the PA. One day I went in there and they had a cover version of last christmas, sung by an asian woman who hit the flattest notes I've ever heard. Her pronunciation was pretty engrish too.. damn I wish I had a copy of that cover!

I have a Christmas mix cd that keeps evolving each year, mostly reflective of my gradual withdrawal from being a Jesus freak.

Now it includes Spice Girls, Hanson, the Beatles, The Beach Boys, Sarah Maclachlan, Ella Fitzgerald, Lou Rawlins, the Blenders, The Nylons, and a handful of others, but it's a combination of stuff my parents played at Christmas when I was a kid and stuff I know is classic Christmas. I need to make a second volume to include the Chipmunks and Peanuts stuff, too.

if you're into sufjan stevens, he has like 5 albums of christmas stuff. i thought this was a brilliant idea but only so much of it actually does anything for me :(

the christmas ep by low is real good, despite being real depressing.

just listened to the Low album again. so good.

also, nothing against Stafrænn Hákon, but his christmas ep is kinda poor.
