I have a QUESTION.  Can anyone recommend me music that might be like autechre, but also the same vein as fusion-era miles davis??  Obviously both miles and 'chre are in a league of their own.

But I keep listening to Big Fun, Get Up With It, and Bitches Brew lately and I cant get over how similar some of those jams are to longer autechre like NTS.  Riffing on a single idea that with sublte variation and intensity that permuates over time.  Dont know how to better describe it but my brain gets the same vibe from a track like this as to autechre, and I want more

I just listened to Live Evil for the first time, don't know how I slept on it for this long. It's fucking ace.

So, several videos appear on youtube with the Ride Liner, a gentleman in a sled who, harmoniously, lavishes himself on acrobatics of the most illustrious composers.
Everything was fine until the Ride Liner decided to take a ride on Ligeti's piano etudes. On the first attempt, he will die. In this way we will follow his corpse, and the sled, bouncing dizzily throughout Désordre, perhaps the most beautiful piano score of Ligeti. But the thing is carefully studied: the corpse of the Ride Liner and the sled will follow two separate paths, which indicate how the melody splits between left and right hand, with complex evolutions up to the inconceivable. Ultimately the video helped me to better visualize the nature of the score. And the Autechre? Well, these are things that I find a lot in our two, especially in the decade of 2000. For example, I find a close relationship between The devil Staircase and Dial.

If I could recommend some ekters...Colin Dwyer/Braintree, and Melted Self/Stickfigger, Ignatius too. In a similar vein as autechre and immensely talented artists. Aux as well.

A number of other similarly talented ekters but not necc autechre sounding. I’m super happy to have joined in 2012, so many talented artists here like Wagawaga, bendish, rolando and so on. The level of talent here is amazing.

The last thing I released was a bit influenced by the Untilted Glasgow show. If you like those off kilter beats, surprising transitions, and odd tonal bits, then you might dig this.

Someone was kind enough to leave a review:

This just got a tape release through Schematic, if you're interested in that kind of thing: https://schematicmusiccompany.bandcamp.com/album/16e8c02

yo @Braintree that's most excellent, congrats!

Speaking of tapes, if you enjoyed that Melted Self album, the fruits of the sessions that produced the tracks on that release are landing in cassette and digital form soon on https://memoryglands.bandcamp.com/ . Follow we to keep informed :^)

I brought up this thought in the dedicAtEd thread for Untilted but I think it is an interesting enough idea generally speaking. Here's the alternate order I came up with for their 2005 offering, Fermium is not removed because I dislike the song but because it feels like the odd one out. This is just my first attempt at this and I don't think I have a better sequence than S and R (fucking love this album the way it is as it is), but it is fun to try rejigger things a bit and see if there are some nice ways of changing the sequencing, just for fun

      1. LCC
      2. The Trees
      3. Augmatic Disport
      4. Ipacial Section
      5. Iera
      6. Pro Radii
      7. Sublimit

Here's what auxien said about this new order/removing Fermium:

"hm, not sure about Fermium on its own, feels naked like that. but it is a little bit of an odd one out on the album perhaps, so i see the case there.
random thoughts listening to this tracklisting:
LCC as opener and Sublimit as closer is necessary, good work on not trying to fuck with that not sure about The Trees as track 2, feels a little too close in shape to LCC Ipacial into Iera is fucking great Iera into Pro Radii works pretty well Pro Radii into Sublimit works pretty well too  overall not as offensive as i'd expected trying to tweak what's pretty close to a perfect album. may see about doing an alternate tracklist of my own"
