I'm really excited about this. The leak was awesome, but I feel the actual release is going to be 10X better. There's a reason he was pissed off it leaked. Just listen the version of aerodynamic here and compare it to the leaked version: http://www.myspace.com/dylanjeganathan

Also wanted to mention this news I heard on planet-mu boards:

TONIGHT(march 10th) on the BBC Radio1 show..

BOXCUTTER

vs

CLUBROOT

vs

JEGA

JEGA = My new album 'Variance' will premiere during an exclusive set on BBC Radio 1 Experimental on March 11th 2009

Definitely going to listen to this...

found it: http://deepgoa.wordpress.com/2009/03/11/ma...o-1-03-11-2009/

Jega in the Mix

Jega - ‘The Girl Who Fell To Earth’

Jega - ‘Moment’

Jega - ‘SoulFlute’

Jega - ‘Sakura’

Jega - ‘Dreams’

Jega - ‘Antiphon’

Jega - ‘7-Cascade Decoherence’

So, these track names look different to me. I'll be listening in a second....

I've got a headache. Anyway, I've put up the Boxcutter clips

Variance is Vol1 and Vol2 on a 2cd and 2LP due in July (if i get the aiffs delivered this weekend).

So I guess this is volume 1 of variance? Apparently volume 2 is rumored to be more cut up breaks shit.

yes there's just one release. Variance. Vols 1+2 on 2cd and 2LP

vol.1 - more melodic/lighter (as heard on mah's show [except for the last track cascade decoherance which is from vol2])

vol.2 - more technoey and glitchy and gets faster at the end...

wonder if volume 2 is the leaked one.

that's what i said in the MAH thread

I think that was early cuts of some tracks for it.

and that's the most logical conclusion

It'll never live up to expectations. It's best that it not get released.

is Jega the only indian dude who makes electronic music that sounds nothing like indian music?

There's also Koushik etc.

Oh hell yes.  I'm getting so excited about this damn album, ever since he released Aerodynamic for the Sacred Symbols of Mu comp.  I'm thinking that since it leaked really early on, he put the extra effort into it to make it more than what it might have been without that incident.

I actually think it's really cool to be able to hear "in progress" versions and then the really polished stuff.  Makes you appreciate the final product even more.

I think I'll watch Tron right before the album comes out.

Oh man am I looking forward to this. I mean, Variance has been a running joke for years, but this is sounding like it'll actually live up to the hype. Nice.
