OneToThirtySix Posted March 13, 2009 Share Posted March 13, 2009 I've had this album by this "industrial" band since 2003, and yesterday I listened to this track and I swear I'm hearing a sample of Opening the Mouth. I don't have the cover art anymore, and I can't find any release or copyright information on this album other than it was released the same year as Geogaddi. But the sample here must have come from Geogaddi, unless they reconstructed the flutes and vocals. Seems it would have been easier to just ask for permission to sample. Well, I would have checked the cover art for credits, but I lost it years ago, and I scoured the label website and the wikipedia and amazon pages for the credits, and I can't find anything. It seems unlikely that a band on a Christian label would sample without permission. Unless there is a staggering amount of irony here . . . Geogaddi was released in '02, right? The album this track is on was released the same year, but the rest of the album is completely different.
