if it's good i would like it, i like a lot of different kinds of books, movies, and music, not just dark stuff. (ex really like wizard of oz, singin in the rain, and apocalypse now, boogie nights) blankets is supposed to be about a first love right?

People who call comics graphic novels are people who dont read comics

when i was 17 a creepy lanky bloke recommended watchmen and gave me a copy of anthrax's attack of the killer b's

i often see him on the way home from work

he still lives in the same shitty flat

In my experience it's actually completely the opposite. Especially since they aren't exactly the same thing. The analogy I'd make would be comparing a single episode of a television show to a full length film.

alan moore's swamp thing run

the Supreme (alan moore's amazing superman homage/satire/parody/revival)

Miracleman (kind of the precursor to watchmen but has not been reprinted, can find in cbr format online)

if you like from hell check out the other Eddie Campbell work 'Bacchus' it's like an ambient comedy action horror series about if greek gods lived among us as normal people

*shame on you guys for not recommending him other excellent Alan Moore

sandman

the maxx

kabuki

i didn't like the maxx when it first started very much but how it ended i found freaking amazing and not surprisingly i think moore helped tweak the ending in the last issues. i won't spoil what happens but it's actually pretty touching

League of Extraordinary Gentlemen Vol 1 and 2

The black Dossier just kicked my ass, have you read it yet?

jesus negro that is a mind fuck of a comic book, there is probably only maybe 10% actual comic book in it the rest is crazy fake 1930s porno comics and crumpled memos and other weird shit

* i 2nd the league recommendation,

GBIII: yeah I have The Black Dossier on cbr but haven't read it yet, have heard negative things compared to the other 2 vol's.....

am wanting to read the Civil War series(i know not Moore or really a graphic novel)....

and it is a bit of an undertaking....

I will read The Black Dossier definitely....

Promethea is one of the greatest things I have ever read...along with From Hell....I need to read the Miracleman series and Moore's Swamp thing, have those as well but haven't gotten to them yet

what do you think of Morrison's Seven Soldiers of Victory?
