What kind of audio summing equipment is everyone using here?

I've one of these:

Mackie 24.8

And submix with one of these:

The Tascam is a bit noisy, but the Mackie is spot on. They can be had for cheap too, I got mine with the meter bride and a stand for $600 second-hand.

I use a Mackie Micro 1202, but it's really only for live shows since I do everything in the computer anyway.

Guest welcome to the machine

lots of mackies on EKT, still $600 for a 24 8 is a bargain!

I use a mackie 32 8 at one of the studios I work at and I dont get on with it, though I like the flexibility it has. At the other studio I use a neve melbourne -

and a calrec m-series

both sound great though the neve wins on sound and the calrec on cleanliness and looking cool :)

This is what I have in my studio in Vancouver. It's 8 channels, so I can't connect all my synths to it at once, but it has great EQs. Never got to use it much, and I sadly seemed to have left all the recordings I did with it there...

Here in Montreal I don't really have the use for a mixer since I don't have any hardware synths, but I do have a shit behringer portable mixer that could be used for a live set where I needed a mic, or a second input, or for headphone monitor out.

I mix entirely in the box. The only reason I would own a mixer is so that I may use it as an oscillator.

i would love to use an external console, but i don't like the idea of no being able to perfectly recall a previous mix. and i can't afford a console with motorized faders.

anyone else find this to be a deal breaker?

my old one, alesis studio24 is awesome for that. most of the sounds on my circle ep are feedback from that mixer with an external param eq in the loop.

I own a lot of mixers at the moment, none of them that great...

MM8USB.jpg

This is my main one for now because it functions as my audio card for recording my equipment to .wav (in audacity so what)

802_medium.jpg

This was my first mixer, I still have it laying around use it to make no-input feed back, often will modulate it with drum machines etc. bit of a 1 trick pony though, not a mainstay in my music making.

TFTT gave me one of these for free. No power supply though the one for my 802 probably works for it, but with my alesis I don't really need it that much, but hey it was free.

I got this one for free, my friend found a pair of them about to be thrown out and he lent me one indefinitely. I like this one much better than any of the ones mentioned before, and hope to start using it more when I'm not recording top laptop because the alesis mixer is really iffy lately, being a total bitch.

I got this tape deck for 10$ at a recent flea market, I've just moved so I haven't recorded too much lately, but I hope to use it a lot once I get my x0xb0x working and sync'd with dr-110 etc. :):):)

I also got this Fostex VF08 for free, loaded with tons of shitty recordings of other peoples guitar playing etc. Used to use this to record live jams with friends etc. It was right before they made a better model with usb port to transport wavs etc. so it kind of sucks, and I rarely use it.

I have a hard time selling stuff, but almost all of it was free or very cheap, probably less than 100$ for all of it.
