I just noticed something in To Cure a Weakling Child

From the very beginning there can be heard a very low mixed loop of the drilly beats that come in later @ 25 seconds. Doesn't really mean anything I guess, but it's interesting when you've heard something so many times and then all of a sudden you hear something new.

EDIT: Oh, I know what happened, when richard bounced down vocal part he accidentally let some of the drum tracks leak into it. I can tell it is part of the vocal clip because later on in the track when the vocals are reversed, you can hear the same faint drum parts being reversed as well.

i dont hear shit

I only noticed it on my really nice monitering earbuds with the volume turned up all the way, and I could barely hear it then.

Also the beat on Cornish Acid is the same as Acrid Avid Jam Shred, just sped up.

Really?, are there any DJ sets that take advantage of this? I'd like to hear.

I'm gonna have to check this out. If it really is there I don't think it'd be by accident, a lot of producers like to hide stuff in their tracks.

Yeah it's there, you don't even need to be listening that loud to hear it. I couldn't detect anything on my speakers but heard it right away on headphones.

Cool.

so basically what you're saying is he sampled himself

instead of just reusing the vocal recordings

No, I'm saying that the vocal line(source not known to me) that is all chopped up and effected, at some point, was bounced down into one phrase instead of just a bunch of clips in cubase, The fader for the other part wasn't all the way down. Or maybe he bounced it to tape, same story. Later in the song, he likely just uses the same bounced down clip with the leakage in it and reverses it. I just find it interesting, even though it is a waste of time to dissect these things. Obviously I don't REALLY know what is going on in the track.

EDIT: its the same kind of pointless nerdiness that one gets when hearing the track on bwoon dub that was "dubbed over".

nice.. that is one of the greatest things about impromptu recording. sometimes the 'mistakes' end up sounding better than what you planned on..

I remember when he was coming onto the Mu boards in 2005 as analord, I mentioned the "hidden track" and he replied "maybe it's been taped over or something."

how terribly mysterious, i must uncover this hidden track

gee thanks you just took all the mystery and magic out of the track by pointing out its aesthetic flaws. I hate life.

Hidden stuff like this interests me. I just noticed something on Flim at 1:02 and it reminded me of this thread.
