Let's get back to this... These are absolutely disgusting.

They might be OK if you're actually hiking or something like that, but yeah. Anyone wearing these for every-day streetwear is going to look silly.

I thought the only reason people bought Toms was for their (dubious) ethical credentials... why would you buy a sweatshop-made version which is just as ugly?

i think they are pretty nice lookin myself. but either way, the most important thing about shoes (unless you're a filthy hipster) is comfort and quality. and yeah i have been on many a hike with these badboys and they have taken a lot of abuse, haven't had a problem with them yet. people seem to have this weird hate against north face because of boards of canada i guess but they make good shit. bottom line.

No, I'm just over the age of 15.

you should know looking silly is subjective.

OK, how about this: they're going to look like they have no idea whatsoever about dressing for their environment.

I only wear shoes that are deeply uncomfortable. I like to put razor blades into the sole, just because it makes me look hip.

True dat, it's impossibly hard to find good looking shoes that fit nicely. You should rather buy some hiking shoes instead m8.

i used to go clubbing in some serious hiking boots.

"'scuse mate, no trainers allowed"

"i think you'll find these are hiking boots!"

"oh er, fair enough then... in you go"

like you lot are dressing for your environment as you mince through puddles and shit in your delicate silk pumps.

and boat shoes iain? go sailing much?

LOL, touch a nerve?

And yes, to answer your question, but I don't just wear them on the quay. They're smart, good-looking, socially acceptable shoes. Hiking boots aren't. They're ugly and practical.
