you just want dates... they don't have to be actual recordings?

rdj and vibert played at big day out 2004 in auckland, new zealand and in australia. not sure if it was a DJ set or whatever... i don't think so though. just googled the dates:

January 16 Auckland, New Zealand, Ericsson Stadium (Big Day Out)

January 18 Gold Coast, Parklands (Big Day Out)

January 23 Sydney, Showgrounds (Big Day Out)

January 26 Melbourne, RAS Showground (Big Day Out)

January 30 Adelaide, Royal Showground (Big Day Out)

February 1 Perth, Claremont Showground (Big Day Out)

i wonder if he performed at all of those venues though, but since he was scheduled for all of them (according to the big day out site, i'll add them). i am looking for any information though, and if you have any boots i am missing, better quality versions or whatever. even info helps to assemble the list. thanks.

This is a worthy thread, thanks for all this Solo strike, some quality stuff here. I think I have the 2003 glasgow gig, if thats the one RDJ played as DJ Smojphace, its split into 2 files totalling about 45 mins, alot of acid tunes, sound quality is so so.

I wish Joyrex would upload some of those rare earlier gigs he talked about soon, Joyrex any chance of this? There must be more than a few rare live performances from that 2 gigs of data due to go up on the site right?

Also, ages and ages ago, there used to be a real audio interview available on the net with some American guy talking to RDJ , about 30 mins in length, pretty poor quality, does anyone have this? I remember the guy asks something of RDJ at one point about why he makes his music and his audience , Richard mutters something, and the guy having misheard him asks him "you make music to kill them?" , always made me chuckle

Apparently that XXX Fuse set with Richard, Hawtin and May is bullshit, its just some kid who called his file that in order for people to d/l and listen to it. Cheeky cunt.

Another set that has been overlooked was the live gig Richard did at Big Love in Oxfordshire, UK in 1996 or 1997. That was pretty mental, cigars, teddy's..the lot.

He played live at the London Dungeons at some point too, i can't remember when though.

2001-07-11 - Ireland-Dublin - Temple Bar

He played Newcastle, riverside club on the tour of the RDJ lp in 97 i think it was with Luke Vibert and Andrew Weatherall = some drunken geordie knocked his laptop over halfway through 'digeridoo' and the sound went dead, Bez was there, my x-friend was mistaken for a roadie by RDJ who asked him to go find someone to which my friend told him to 'fuck off' and he played 'Blue Calx' live which I think is pretty rare. Other time was at a club called Rockshots where he was spinning with Mike Dredd in 2000-something cant remember the exact date I was pissed out my head.

But not everyone was, well, ecstatic about Ravestock. In the days before the event there were rumblings on the Internet that the organizers were out to commercialize and exploit techno, charges that were reminiscent of those thrown at Woodstock '94 as a whole. And Richard James, a k a Aphex Twin, claims that when promoters discovered he had affixed a fake name to the contract he had signed five before going on, which reportedly gave PolyGram all rights to his performance, they pulled the plug after only a half-hour. "That was the last live show I'm ever gonna do," James said. But Paul Hartnoll of Orbital said, "It was just a really friendly, positive sort of atmosphere. I wasn't sure that was going to happen, because it's a lot of people that hadn't seen that sort of thing."
