video game music thread

While not strictly music from a video game, I thought it relevant to mention here that I've just completed an album of dub techno tracks using only the menu and bootup screen sounds from my Dreamcast for everything in said tracks except the drum machines. Should be released for free within the year, with a bunch of fun remixes to follow.

For sure! Expect a PM once I assemble the sample packs.

Loads of batshit insane programming going on here -

As a kid I loved (and still love) the way it goes off at a complete tangent but was able to segue back so subtly for the piece to loop so seamlessly.

EDIT: Woah, never heard the original game's music on the Speccy - There's some serious shit going on here given the technical limitations of the sound hardware:

My first playthrough of Shenmue was a few months ago and I already feel nostalgic about so many parts/songs of that game.

The SIlent Hill 2 soundtrack is also hella good. too bad I never completed the entire game.

also, Oblivion has quite a few good tracks. way better than Skyrim's soundtrack, imo.

This is probably only of interest to me but I've literally been trying to find this for 15 years and today I finally did.

I was about to say, that couldn't sound any more like Turrican if it tried, but I noticed it too was composed by Chris Hülsbeck.

ok listen to the beginning of this song - it contains a sample that is most likely from a Chiastic Slide album, possibly Cipater or Recury. But I'm not quite sure of it. Maybe it's from another Ae track. Little help maybe?
