compression/ wave hammer type thingy for Goldwave?

Anyone know of some sort of plugin I can use with goldwave to use like soundforge's wavehammer? Though I compose mostly in goldwave, I usually open up tracks in soundforge for various compression needs. But my soundforge is totally jacked up, it injects random loud 8-bit squelches over everything (which will be cool maybe once but not on all of my music). So I'm wondering if anyone knows of anything I can use with goldwave to achieve similar effects?

lol stop using goldwave.

also, download the free goldwave direct x plugin that in turn enables you to use DXi plugins in goldwave. there are many DXi compression plugins available.

download goldwave direct x from http://www.goldwave.com/plugins.php

then get the T-Racks mastering suite or something like that and install the DXi bits.

does goldwave support VST effects? i only saw directx listed

a free VST one is George Yohng's W1 Limiter VST

a not free VST / DirectX one is IZotope Ozone

or try reaper which is free and decent and comes with at least one compression effect i know.. haven't really browsed all the effects

will try these too.

cool. i worked on music all day yesterday for the first time in 2 years, dont want to lose all my momentum over some compression details... thanks
