screw Perlence subrange 6-36, an hour long version of Altibzz would've been so good!!

maybe it's the perfect length at 3 minutes and i'm just being greedy, but there's something really nice and warm about this song, the way it drifts in and out. the rich textures + melodies. would happily listen to it all day :P

I like Altibzz the way it is.

I do not like that Perlence Subrange 6-36. It's the same thing for an hour. I can appreciate abstract and ambience, but that, to me, is ridiculous.

I absolutely love that track. There are changes in the track, albeit very few of them. It's like an hour long trip in to a strange, ethereal dimension where there are clangs of factories and bladerunner sky-traffic off in the distance. Definitely one of my favourite AE tracks.

haha. although, i do LOVE the rest of quaristice, but this track is .. a different colour? lolz. it makes sense that peopel can dig this but not the other stuff.

at modey's WARP20 LISTENING PARTY last weekend, 5am the small handful of us still awake listened to Perlence subrange 6-36.. and it really is quite good. nice textures, not too much going on so it sits nicely in the background, with enough variation to not be totally pointless. yeah, quaristice is a fucken... DEEP/DENSE album. or something. just, really fucken rich and phat : )

If you think about the title, it's one of the more literal ones: "Alti"-high, "Bzz" variant of "Buzz." Sets you up for the feeling of floating and feeling pleasant.

This is pretty bang-on if you ask me. For lack of a better explanation I would have to say this is where the title comes from

Or maybe they know a fella called Alan TIbbs. You never know with these wacky northerners.

or this

lol

Same here, it's great to listen to when playing poker for piddling amounts on the net.

aaaahhhhhhhhh and you have an Ae tatoo you say? Get your ass moving, go get that EP!

Before you go, just keep in mind it is a very ambient/stretched version of Quaristice so don't expect alot of really fast thrashy shit. Its really long and repedetive but its really awesome too, in my opinion at least.

that sounded great! combined two of my favourite things musically, Autechre and atmospheric black metal! :music:

Altichyre is good too

I also prefer Altichyre - IE the 'Versions' version of Altibizz. Melodically if you prefer darker, more minor type stuff, to the conspicuous happy-leaning Altibizz, you may prefer Altichyre. But it's not just the melodic style, I think you can hear more interesting timbres and bends in the synths.

perlence subrange 6-36 reminds me of the cd-length minimal ambient tracks by steve roach; also the disintegration loops.

I think I mentioned it in another thread, but if you like subrange then you need check out Imprint by Rhythm & Sound (final track on self-titled). Fucking brilliant.

Altichyre is Awesome! I like the rerigging of the original tune. Someone mentioned Orchestral Autechre before. This comes pretty damn close to it.
