Enough with this playa hatin faggotry.

No, he's right, F the Yankees! I wish Philly could have miraculously pulled it out somehow.

Velazquez- you don't understand (this whole country hates the Cowboys as well btw and every other "America's Team").

Truth be told, my heart hasn't been in baseball since the Tigers choked away their division lead at the end of the season and failed to make the playoffs...

I don't really give a shit who won or lost. I could care less about baseball. It's fun to play but boring as fuck to watch.

What pisses me off is that fuckers like A-Rod get to keep playing, despite the fact they are fucking cheaters. It sends a message to little kids that the only real way to succeed in sports is to use steroids. If there is a hell, he will end up there.

Now I can watch normal tv again! Yessss! Sports should follow the NFL format and have all the games played over a couple days. Between the three major sports my roommates have been watching an average of 6 hours of sports related tv every day. Too much!

You'd hate sports too if you were a Buffalo Bills fan.

as far as MLB is concerned, it's fucked without a cap. big teams like the yankees will always be contenders and small teams will never have a chance. not much competition when you can always afford the best of the best.

Baseball is definitely in big trouble. Its ratings are shit, nobody cares anymore, and the NFL is now the alpha and omega of sports leagues. The Yankees buying themselves another World Series is so zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz it's hardly worth the antiquated newspapers the ink is being printed on.

while i tend to agree with you in general, you could point out an argument as recent as last year's tampa bay rays making it to the series.. and the year before that, the rockies and their impressive last minute run. and of course the marlins winning it all in 03. in fact, i would argue, of all major sports, none in the last decade has seen as much parity in its champions as baseball has. check the list of winners since the turn of the century:

2000 - new york yankees

2001 - arizona diamondbacks

2002 - anaheim angels

2003 - florida marlins

2004 - boston red sox

2005 - chicago white sox

2006 - st louis cardinals

2007 - boston red sox

2008 - philadelphia phillies

2009 - new york yankees

you've also had the mets, giants, astros, tigers, rockies, and rays representing different teams that have made it as runners up.

Yeah, the parity in baseball is kinda sad because the sport still seems to suck despite it. The ratings don't lie and fans, including myself, are just not tuning in anymore.

I actually hate football, but I find it a more interesting sport these days. I appreciate what you're saying, Fred, but right before the 2000 cutoff, the Yankees won in 1996, 1998, and 1999.

Seeing them return to win another championship after spending $420,000,000 in the off season is fucking disgusting.

at the same time it's an awesome story to see someone like the rays win their division outright while the biggest juggernauts in the sport have an arms race right in their same division. but no real arguments here really. when the seasons starts, i'm a freak, i get the extra innings package, i have a fantasy baseball team, i watch a few games a day, it's great. but by september, when football rolls around, baseball falls COMPLETELY off the map for me. they need to shorten the schedule. football crushes them. i want baseball to succeed. but my football boner stands proud and true for america's real favorite pastime.

lol, exactly.

How can anybody get amped for the Yankees 27th World's Biggest Cocksuckers award when you have Favre taking on the Pack, etc.

The Rays story was amazing, I loved that. I just hate that a lot of my favorite teams from childhood will never be good again. E.g. The Pittsburgh Pirates.

P.S. - Dude, $420,000,000....it's hilarious. I don't see how any self-respecting Yankees fan can be proud of this one. Seriously.
