Let's face it kids...

if this thing launched w/ Ableton iLive touch edition, iTraktor, and a jazz mutant lemur app, you'd all be cumming blood.

so far i have managed quite well with having a phone that i can only call & text from and a desktop computer. i think i can manage a few years more before i'll try (and afford) one of these new things all you kids are going crazy for.

pretty weak point there buddy considering it does none of the above.

i'm not hating on it, but here's what i DID expect from a company that waited so long to introduce a tablet:

1. linux support

2. oled screen

3. some nifty sort of haptic feedback

4. x2 battery life

5. dvi

6. usb x3

7. card reader

8. interchangeable battery

correct, it does none of the above... today - it isn't even launched yet. but all of those things are possible if the companies decided to make the apps.

i just think that the device is fine, but a lot of people don't understand it. it's not supposed to replace your laptop, or your phone, or even your ipod.

1. i don't see the point.

2. agreed, but it still has great battery life, and oled would've put the price too high

3. agreed

4. disagree - whats wrong with 10hrs of video playback? you really expected 20hrs? yikes.

5. sure.

6. yes, no USB is def a shame.

7. sure

8. HA! remember, this is Apple.

yeah i would *maybe* buy one of these if i had the money right now and if it ran Mac OSX music apps.

seems kind of gimmicky at the moment, again nothing really that innovative but people into Apple jizz heavily

edit: seems odd to me to get one of these if you can afford a laptop and/or an iphone. Is there any feasible use you can imagine if one already owns both of these?

Coming from someone who has a macbook, iphone and an ipod there is no point to this Ipad.

Everything that thing can I do I can do on my iphone and have it fit in my pocket.

Someone photoshop a pic of someone listening to music on this thing.

also lol at the name if you pronounce it Ipahhd.

will you have to 'jail break' this to put your own stuff on it that isn't authorized through an apple apps store?

basically what im asking is it a bullshit protected closed system like the Iphone

Yeah, it's based on the App Store. That's probably why they can sell it for $500.

Of course, it will be hacked, like anything else.

1. a device as powerful as this would be a HOT geek/techie tool if it ran a proper OS.

3. 10hrs of video playback? i might have misread something but they "were able to achieve 10 hours of battery life." and i don't think they were being modest. anyway, if it's really 10hrs of video playback, then that's quite good actually.

8. yeah, i forgot.
