Hallucinate Like You Just Took LSD

I always liked Hoffmans opinion on lsd induced "hallucinations". Saying that a hallucination is when you see something that is not really there, but on lsd what you are seeing is real, just a distortion. So in his opinion, you don't hallucinate on lsd. =D

Technically lsd hallucinations are called hallucinosis because you know they aren't real. Most of them are subtractive and they are similar to the hallucinations you can get from pushing your eyes inside with your hands. When you're doing this (or under the influence of a blotter) your brain gets a lot of signals and it fires up an inhibition system that goes out of control at some point. Thus you see coloured fractal shapes.

the only visuals i had were of me working at a factory (most boring hallucination i ever had)

i love you stay the same

I really enjoy sitting in a medium sized closet. On the floor, back against the wall, with a towel under the door so no light or sound comes in/out. No external sounds going on. Open my eyes and I get some of the strangest proximity feelings. Like this "i'm about to have a head rush" but then don't feeling over and over again. Luv it. Very calming. No hallucinations but clears the mind to see some great visions in my mind.

Yeah, it's weird because everyone always considers LSD a "hallucinogenic" but, really, there aren't any "hallucinations" per se.

Went to this science fair thing a couple of years back - they had this spinning wheel with oddly patterned markings you were supposed to stare at for a few minutes. When you looked away - instant trip visuals. Everything was all swimmy and morphing in to one another - MY HANDS WERE SO GODDAMN INTERESTING!!!!!

red light is not necessary to achieve ganzfeld effect, i prefer a white light. I'm working on a pair of goggles right now that have built in white LEDs, the ping pong ball method is not ideal it is uncomfortable and is hard to get them completely sealed. It's pretty hard to get hallucinations off of ganzfeld effect, i love it merely for it being very relaxing. Its probably the most effective form of meditation for me.

edit: it's not very hard to fall asleep or bring one self into a hypnogogic state while doing ganzfeld techniques, but that's not 'hallucinating from ganzfeld' its just getting so relaxed you fall asleep.

Just take some Ambien and force yourself to stay awake, the hallucinations will come!

This. Only substitute Ambien with Stilnox in my case.

if you guys havent tried ganzfeld on LSD i highly recommend it, if you've never had 'hallucinations' on LSD you will in an instant with the white-out method. even on a an extremely low dose of it, one low enough where you barely feel the effects, the ganzfeld will synergize with the LSD and start producing visuals.

if my mind is full of problems and bad stuff i'll probably allucinate about problems and bad stuff right???

cause all this ZEN feeling talk about makes me wonder how is it to feel completely ZEN and i would like to try it but i'm almost sure i can't do it on my own...

ex: if i was trully mj i would like to get that zen feeling to avoid me thinking about little boys, but probably it would just make it worse no???

Well...hallucinations or not. I've seen a FAIR amount of stuff on acid. One thing with acid, especially at higher dosages. You start coming in and out of consciousness quite often. But not in a like, nodding off sort of way, just a "mind wandering off" sort of way. When you REALLY get up there in dosages, you really do start to come in and out in a nodding off way, which I and I'm sure some fellow watmmers have enjoyed. Then you can reach that certain point where you are basically in an irl cartoon and everything, including you, is animated.

I'm hit and miss with the you realize 'fill in the blank' "hallucination" isn't real on acid. Yes and no. Yes at lower dosages. Absolutely not on higher dosages. I went from KNOWING and seeing an atomic bomb go off in my front yard (but it was all good lol), seeing and talking to my dead dog, playing a concert in an underground stripey, and dimly red lit cave music hall (and watching myself perform from the front row as I was also experiencing performing). I also lost consciousness in the literal way (i guess? idk) and saw myself "sleeping" on my bed, from a birds eye view, and a giant mechanical spider crawl into the room and eat my body, and blood soaked into the carpet and filled my whole "vision".

I could go on, but I didn't "think" any of that stuff was real at the time. I "knew" it was. Same as when I saw my stereo cabinet melt, and could see the wall behind it in plain view. I knew the cabinet was gone forever. But that was also on a lot of acid.

I don't want to border on "WHOA I'VE DONE ALL DIS ACID I'M L33t" etc, but I just enjoy sharing these kinds of stories, apologies to anyone who thinks I'm "bragging", or making stuff up for that matter, because I will take to the grave that all that stuff did happen, and I remember it even now with crystal clear memory.

Have you seen or talked with Shiva while on acid?

I never really had any conversation with non-human like beings on acid. I was aware of some Hindu stuff when I was doing acid, but I didn't know any names or really a tiny percentage of what I know now about Hindu. Closest thing I had was "Be Here Now". Which is amazing to look at while tripping. But I certainly saw many Shiva/Krishna like beings. I have some drawings of the 3 most frequent "beings" I would see and the way their arms always swayed back and forth has always stuck with me. So purty.

So, nein. No convo's with Shiva. Maybe when I trip next. If I can muster up the guts. I haven't done it since I was 17. But I did a LOT from 13-16. Only a few at 17. I've been planning a trip for a while cuz I've really been wanting to go there again. But I won't do it unless my life is at least a little stable, which it's getting closer to now since I'll be in Texas for at least 6-7 Months. I gotta make some friends here first though, I don't trust doing it alone for the first time in a while.

Edit: I think all the stuff I've learned about Hindu in the past few years will really add a new depth to tripping. It's become a pretty important part of my life, though I don't call myself Hindu.

I haven't tried this but what's the point of visuals if they're not interacting with emotions, bodily feelings and insights ? LSD is not just visuals and the visuals is not the necessarily the best of a psychedelic experience.

ganzfeld (the concept described by the original poster) or any heavy sensory deprivation experience ie: an isolation tank can cause varying degrees of tactile, auditory and visual sensory hallucinations including distinct shifts in emotions. Last time i did an isolation tank experience the 'mind fuck' became a little bit too intense and i had to get early, the only small similarity i can draw to LSD is that i started to go on a disturbing mental tangent about people being blown away in Afghanistan. a friend of mine got back the night before and filled my head with horror stories.

it's a far different experience from LSD though, ganzfeld is very different feeling from other forms of sensory deprivation as well.

You will not get Euphoria , Feelings of togetherness ,etc. This is plain old tricking the brain.

I recommend doing it with DXM , you will not only have a better chance to hallucinate cool shit , but also get emotions and feelings that are worth your time.

I tried it , and it is really fucking boring.

Have to wait for a half an hour 'till you get visuals. You will fall asleep before you see something.

i take it you didn't get stoned beforehand. heheh. I have done something similar involving a candle and a mirror. It didn't take long cause i was committed. but it also wasn't awesome.

It's better off to stick with the lsd
