Dilby is pretty much the opposite of Garfield in every way, shape and form, except that most people find both to be unfunny. Garfield = pedestrian shit, Dilby = pretentious shit. It's more like the Garfield Minus Garfield of Dilbert. Dilby is very popular among people who like Dilbert 3 (youtube video). It's one of my favorite comics, along with Nedroid, Garfield Minus Garfield, Perry Bible Fellowship, and Pokey the Penguin. Dilby's kind of hit-and-miss, though.
