Vose In

Just smoked a fat bowl and I'm listening to LP5. Vose In came on, and hearing it on headphones for the first time without being on a bus totally blew me away. I have a new-found love for this track which I never fully had before. It was always a meh track for me.

To this day I'm still finding the occasional track that never fully clicked with me.

Who else loves Vose In?

edit: I beleve Thom Yorke does

I always considered this one of the highlights of LP5. That sneaky bassline that comes in out of nowhere is so awesome, the way the melodies in this song progresses and the way they errr... harmonise? Counter? Not sure what the right term is... but they way they fit together with that bassline when it comes in is FANTASTIC.

Yeah when that bassline sneaks in is one of my all time favorite Autechre moments, great great track. I can hum that melody all day.

Me too -- I got LP5 after hearing "Vose In" on nothing records' Nothing Changes 'electronica' compilation, and was from there sucked into the world of aeaeaeaeaeaeaeaeaeae

... still haven't bought a North Face jacket tho ...

From Acroyear II to the end of Uncer BOAC, this track "sequence" is wicked, for me it's one of the most coherent and flowing sequences on any Ae album.

Listening to Vose In, I always picture some kind of majestic being, semi robotic with an array of wings and shiny mechanical things gradually unfolding from it as it glides down from above in an aura of brilliant lights.

Then towards the end of the song its starts deconstructing itself and implodes into nothing. Beautiful track.

Funnily enough the thing I envisioned bore striking resemblence to the cartoon figure that is Acroyear II o_O

^ those are essential if you live in Chicago and don't like the cold. Lucky for me I'm a tough motherfucker and just suck it up. But -- it has gotten a lot harder since I lost 30 lbs! I was going to ask if you can relate, asymm, but then you live/d in CA/FL, right? Lucky bastard.
