What are plaid like live?

I'm going to see them this weekends. I'm not as big a fan of plaid as I am of tBD but really looking forward to this gig non the less.

Ive seen and heard nothing about their live show. In my head it could go 2 ways. One, a really relaxed show with pretty melodies and relaxed laid back music. But I have a sneaky feeling it could be some really hardcore beats just because it would be great.

Plaid aren't too heavy but not too mellow kinda like baby bears porridge, just right

i reckon they'll hit ya'll with some phat, frantic beats! ..new Scintilli's, and lots of loud glitch-tastic noise! :)

sometimes they DJ sometimes they play live. the one time I have seen them live was pretty much very trippy and danceable versions of their tracks performed from ableton. really great

Saw Plaid in Dublin last year, Chassis missed out cause he had throat cancer from smoking too many cocks :(

They were playing at the Warp night during the DEAF festival. Bibio and Clark were there too, but for me Plaid was just the dogs bollox. Some heavier renditions of lots of their songs, I remember hearing Squance and thinking it was funny to have cheering samples within the song... bet people thought it was actually the crowd shouting in time with the music o_o

They played Eyen somewhere towards the end and I got chills down the back of my neck :emotawesomepm9:

So fuck yeh its gonna be good!

Squance is epic. We watch this video the other night, complete wig-tastic

no problem dude. been meaning to try find that video again for a while now! but could never find it when i looked.

your question made me wanna look for it again, harder. and hey prestoooooooo ! ! !

it's a good one. right up in their faces camera action! super wicked style. ;)

i think ladypat did the vid for Squance. not my favourite p tune but the vid is good.

he's obsessed with the 80's, too.

Mines in the wash unfortunately, unless I pull it out and where my stinky t-shirt with pride.

I say you start flipping Plaid off and see how that goes down :emotawesomepm9:

Ive decided to go with BoC instead. I think mines dirty too.

Might still flip plaid off though :cisfor:

go right up to their faces and do it. i dare you. infants. :P

my mate was tempted to throw eggs at tBd once, but she chickened out.

maybe next time we'll throw soiled t-shirts and chocolate gold coins.

i'll gladly take your place chassis, if you don't wanna go.

i've never been to the emerald isle before, funnily enough. :)

I think I might wear my tBD tshirt and see how that goes down :D

you should go over to their forum and join the rankers. they'd love you. :)

the only time i saw plaid live it was just them playing tracks verbatim from their albums, and using a robotic arm with a camera attached to film them behind the stage and project it behind them. unfortunately there was nothing to film, watching someone tweak an EQ on a mackie mixer from a robotic arm operated camera for 1 hour was to put it mildly, a little disappointing.

the robo arm was to show that they're actually doing some live tweaking/mixing up there, and not just pressing play on a laptop and wanking themselves off behind it, while pounding their chests and smoking a fat cigar (full of weed, of course), cos anything else just wouldn't be cool or 'IDM' enough.. lol
