Does anyone know how to achieve the "watery" sound as in M06 from Maurizio?

You can hear it also from the other tracks from this series.

I'm using Ableton Live.

thanks,

Agus

Do you mean the hissy background noise? That's just the noise from all the delays they (Moritz von Oswald and Mark Ernestus) use. It'll never get the original Rhythm & Sound noise sound unless you use analogue delays and reverbs, but you could run some noise through a phaser and a couple of delays and reverbs and see if that leads you anywhere.

One doesn't simply run Ableton and imitate Basic Channel's synths in a few easy steps. Von Oswald never revealed what equipment that Ernestus and him used back in the day, and I haven't heard a single act that makes dub textures as deep as theirs.

Yes I understand that it is much more complex. However I have to use the tools I have got. (In my opinion Ableton gives a lot of good options) I will keep on trying. Thank you very much to all for your time and help!!!

filter self oscillation modulated with a random lfo and a touch of reverb?

This. Run some filters into self-osc and run it through spring reverb and some analogue delay and you'll get that watery drip drip sound.

this is a good thread. i like when people give tips on making dub techno.

I don't really like to listen to most dub techno, but I like to try to make it. I use Ableton too, but mostly I just string together some Reaktor synth/effects/samples and dont much use the Ableton effects. BeatRepeat is probably my favorite ableton effect.

more dub techno tips!
