audio interface with DSP effects

I was thinking of buying a decent portable soundcard for doing gigs and occasional recording, like E-MU 1616m, or Presonus FireBox, but, then I started thinking about advantages of having some decent DSP effects, like the ones that come with Tc Konnekt 24D interface(Fabrik-C and Fabrik-R).I can't see any additional advantages of having those except for recording purposes..

Does anybody have a soundcard with DSP effects? Quality ones? Are they considered as generally good?

the motu mk3 traveler comes with a nice mixer software where you can monitor with no latency any incoming input. From there you can put on 3 different dsp effects, Eq, compressor and reverb. The reverb is alright but the eq and compressor sound surprisingly good.

i've got a focusrite saffire pro24, but there is a pro24 DSP version that incorporates a few effects from the liquid range. i can testify to the quality of the audio interface, not sure about the effects though.

I've heard only good things about mk3. That would solve my firewire related problem(Ricoh chipset).
