That label started in avery small, typical internet net label way. They put out one of Wobbly's first albums. The way they got their first big break was by their 'deconstructing beck' compilation, Beck sent some lawyerly letter to them and they responded by basically saying 'fuck you'. I think girl talk's music is kind of lazy, usually just layering two songs at once. It appeals to most people because he uses a lot of popular songs and often makes them danceable; this is great for a show, but not so great for private listening.
