Guest Sprigg Posted December 1, 2010 Share Posted December 1, 2010 Still a total hardware noob (have none yet) but I have a feeling the Monotron would make a pretty cool filter for vox, and with Christmas coming up, I may be able to get my parents to hook me up with at least a monotron and maybe a relatively cheap mic. My question is: what kind of mic should I be looking for/ what kind of cables/converters/etc would I need? Do I need an interface or direct-line soundcard for this? Silent Member Posted December 1, 2010 Share Posted December 1, 2010 Any kind of cheap mic with a minijack should work, if you've got a skype headset or similar that'd do nicely. You can run your monotron straight into your computers line in. There are better and more expensive solutions, but I like to keep things cheap and dirty. Guest elliot Posted December 1, 2010 Share Posted December 1, 2010 yeah this to me is not worth the effort, better to plug mic into computer and filter it there, mic thru monotron dosnt really the apply lfo,(the signal is too complicated i guess) which is where the fun is at. plugging a 303 or a 707 produces fucking wicked results tho. oh and if you did do this you would need to boost the signal of the mic, easy option would be a guitar pedal like distortion or eq or something Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
