Where do i start? can you guys point me in the direction of some good softwere to start with? And some tut's?? Help me out guys. Btw i already have reason 5 and a pc. Give 'reason for beginners' or 'how to make tracks in reason' or something like that a search. I would suspect they are mostly rubbish for someone with some knowledge but could really help with someone who doesn't have a clue. Most ppl around here either uses Reason, FL Studio, or Ableton. Take your pick they are all about the same from a beginners perspective. If you want longevity, only use csound. It's got a learning curve to it though, so it maybe ought not to be your first stop. I just YouTube everything I want to know. There's usually something. Google otherwise. Once you've got a bit under your belt fidgeting-/tutorial-wise, I'd pull up the manual of whatever software you're using and just read it cover to cover over a period of time. An awful one at that. Thats like saying acoustic guitar is for beginners and electric is for professionals. Guest Babaluma Posted December 12, 2010 Share Posted December 12, 2010 try lots of things and see what you like. i've only ever used gajits breakthru on the st, and audiomulch and cooledit on the pc. never needed anything else (except for a few vst plugins). that meets all my recording and arrangement needs. i have a lot of outboard gear too, but you don't need any of that to start with.
